I Had surgery on 12/13, i developed a hematoma in the left side of my scrotum, surgeon does not seem to concerned but it is pretty large. He has me wearing a jock strap and on a heating pad 3-4 times 20 minutes per day , just wondered if anyone else has encountered something similar and would have any suggestions on speeding up the healing process . He stated it could take from 3-6 months, uughhhh ,, Wade

It takes time to reabsorb a hematoma. If the collected blood is still liquid, draining it is a good option. If congealed and presents no danger of infection (which is the usual case as I understand it) reabsorption is usually uncomplicated and the safer option. A web search found this quote,
A Web search on: 'reabsorption of hematoma' wrote:The swelling and pain of the hematoma will go away. This takes from 1 to 4 weeks, depending on the size of the hematoma. The skin over the hematoma may turn bluish then brown and yellow as the blood is dissolved and absorbed. Usually, this only takes a couple of weeks but can last months.

I developed a hematoma on the shaft of penis after xiaflex. That was 9/2019. By 1/2/2020 it could not be felt. But since the implant it hurts at that point. The tunica was not broken and it just takes time to heal.

Tallboy,
Does your doc have you doing anything to try to reduce it ? Mine also encapsulated my left testical and my pump . My pump is reachable now and I can feel the bottom of my testical . So the weight of this large hematoma is pulling down on the testical cords. Wearing a jockstrap to help with taking the pressure off , I go back to doc 2/10. I seems to be a painfully slow process.

Guys,
There is hope, I have been religiously using the heating pad and hot baths for a month. I am now beginning to see some changes in the hematoma. It is definitely dissolving at a very slow pace. Stay the course it will get better. I see dr Wang on Monday hopefully he releases me to move forward with my recovery !!!

I have a hematoma in my groin (left leg at crotch, next to my genitals), which occurred after I had cardiac surgery the end of November. I was concerned that it hadn't disappeared yet, but I was assured by both the surgeon and by my cardiologist that it would take time. (I am to return for an X-ray in July.) There is no pain (thank God!), but I am aware of it whenever I wash "down there." I have been told that ice (I used frozen peas) for 10 minutes four time a day could help, and my cardiologist said that heat could help also (he didn't tell me any specifics). I am doing neither since I have been told by experts that it will go away after a while (whatever that means). I know this is not implant-related, but I thought it might be helpful.
