I just spoke to a surgeon in Toronto who does implants. He mentioned current waiting time for an year. Patient has to pay the difference of a malleable to three piece.

Does anyone know what is the cost if I do it from my own pocket in USA..someone who does a lot of implants like Dr.Kramer.

Thanks

It varies with doctor and facility but I've seen self pay prices around 17-22k. Obviously they are special agreed upon pricing. I doubt that Eid or Kramer would be less than 30k IMHO.

Thanks

In Toronto there are surgeons who have the patient pay for the 3 piece device only. Hospital and surgeons etc are government funded.

I guess I am trying to find out the approximate price of a 3 piece inflatable.

I seem to recall here where someone was saying the replacement price for an AMS 3 piece was around 6-9k. They were discussing warranty replacement and having to pay up front for the replacement and then getting reimbursed by AMS.

My Titan 2 months ago here in U.S. was 38k. One of the top guys, Levine here in Chicago. 38k billed to my BC/BS plan but contractually BC/BS only allowed 9,800. I know this doesn't help you directly with specific cash/self-pay rates, but hopefully gives some perspective. I understand them, however, to be 2 to 2.5x the typical "allowable" contractual rates as described, so something like 20-25k sounds about right and in line with some others' experiences I think...

I am also from Ontario in the Hamilton area and am 22 days post op with Dr Eid. I paid in total $23,700US for everything medical related. That’s Eids fee, cost for 3 pc implant plus anesthesiologist and hospital clinic. That did not include flight and hotel for 4 nights... that was another $1,200 CDN for both of those. My wait time here was also over a year and unfortunately I’ve already waited to long and by doing so didn’t set myself up for the best outcome. Wish I had done this years ago to avoid all the internal scarring and damage!

Wish you a speedy recovery.
You chose the best possible..so thats a big plus.

Apart from the waiting times..I am not sure how much experience the surgeons have in GTA..compared to the 7-8 thousand implants experinece I hear in USA

To my Canadian neighbors. Please be careful using USA prices in your decisions. There is a chance that if the implant is purchased & installed in Canada. The implant will likely be a bit cheaper. I believe that even across America that the price can vary.
I truly wish the best for you & please keep asking questions on FT. A well informed patient has a better chance of being a satisfied patient.

I agree with your assessment...on implant pricing.
If we factor in the high volume surgeons in USA..how much does one factor for an extremely well skilled surgeon?
