Auto inflation
I was wondering how the pump is surgically replaced due to auto-inflation Do the go thru the same implant incision or can they just slit me on the bottom of my bag, pull the pump thru and just swap pumps?

Re: Auto inflation
I have heard that most surgeons will replace the entire implant rather that just the pump, due to the potential for infection.

If that's true Sir, I'll just leave it as it is. Thank you for your reply..

Re: Auto inflation
Isn’t auto inflation often due to the reservoir being encapsulated to small vs defective pump?

Can be caused by either or both.

Bob, I would not decide until after discussing it with my Surgeon and the manufacturer's Patient Liaison - at length. The decision which parts to replace depends on many factors (including infection danger). Replacing only the pump is relatively simple and the risk of infection is much lower than doing the entire implant.

Re: Auto inflation
Bob? Do you give the pump 1 quick pump to reset the button after you deflate? That should stop all auto inflate.

Re: Auto inflation
Yes Sir I have given it one quick pump to no avail. My surgeon is against inflating until 6 weeks so I chose the Dr Eid way of leaving the hospital at about 60%. That is my surgeon's diagnosis, that I inflated too soon and thereby encapsulating my reservoir. I'm skeptical of this because when I got home from the hospital the day of I deflated and only inflated twice per day for about an hour. I'm thrilled with size, function and everything else but it is awful hard to hide in a pair of Jean's and it'll be much more difficult to hide in gym shorts. I don't hang, I stay a little less then half rigid 24/7. On the bright side I have an enviable bulge. Lol. Thanks fellas.

Re: Auto inflation
Early inflation that causes encapsulation is BS with me. I was 80-90% pumped for the entire first 4 weeks. No auto inflation, even when doing crunches and riding my quad in the desert. I am on the fit side, 5'7" 165#

Re: Auto inflation
There are studies that show it can happen, glad it didn’t for you tho!

Are you sure it's true auto-inflation or is it just the remaining erectile tissues in your corpora relaxing after deflation? I have that - my penis relaxes slightly after the high pressure is released from the cylinders. It takes a little time for this to happen, anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour and then I'm firm again. The way I know I'm not auto-inflating is that I cannot squeeze any saline out of the implant.
The way you can verify whether you're auto-inflating or not is to squeeze the bulb once just enough to go into INFLATE then press the release button again to DEFLATE and try to squeeze the cylinders to deflate. If you don't get substantial "buzzing" again, you're not really auto-inflating. You may be as I am, firming up after the tissues around the now empty cylinders start to spread out and relax again. Even Dr. Allen Morey, high volume implant surgeon from UT Southwestern hospital in Dallas Texas agreed with my assessment of my penis "firming up" as being the tissues in the corpora refilling to occupy the now empty space after deflation.
