Im booked with Dr. Perito and I'm Nervous as HELL

Hey Guys, I want to thank everyone for their replies to all of my post in the past. This forum is filled with great guys!
I have done a ton of research and maybe too much to the point that this is making me nervous as Hell. Honestly this has consumed my life over the past 4 weeks:(

My timeline of my experience to where I am today.

I live in the Charlotte / Lake Norman Area. My urologist for years is Dr. Ashley Tapscott. She is an Amazing Doctor. Dr. Tapscott has been treating me for ED over the past 5-8 years. Generally with Cialis, Tri-Mix and Edex Shots. FYI Edex Shots work GREAT!! All work great but honestly I'm tired of taking these meds and it's becomes very expensive and I do not do well with the side effects. Dr. Tapscott gave me the Ultrasound test of my penis and diagnosed me with a leaky Corpus. She said I would be a great candidate for Penile Implant Surgery. I love Dr. Tapscott, but 1st she's in the area that I live and I do not want to run into people that know me. 2nd she only does the scrotal approach. I'm stuck on the Infapubic Penile Implant for reasons of quick recovery, less chance for infection and the procedure looked a lot cleaner and less invasive.

With that being said Dr. Tapscott referred me to a doctor in Rock Hill SC his name is Dr. Christian Magura. He's around 65 years old and has been in the business since 1977. My wife and I had a consult with him. Dr. Magura has great bedside manner and took more time to answer my questions than any doctor I could imagine. My wife and I were impressed. That is the Pro. The Con is that I'm concerned because he doesnt perform these on a weekly basis. He has performed more than 1,000 over 10 years but not on a weekly or monthly basis. That bothers me because I want someone that is current on the changing methods. Also I haven't seen any reviews from previous patients from this doctor.

Here comes the freak out issue I'm having. After searching and searching on FrankTalk the Doctor Names of the following come up everyone as to being the best Penile Implant Surgeons.

#1 Dr. Eid- I was going to suck it up and go with the Scrotal Penile Procedure but he doesn't accept my insurance which is United Health Care.

#2 Dr. Andrew Kramer- He accepts my insurance but only performs Scrotal Penile as well. However I'm still on the fence about possible cancelling Dr. Perito and going with Dr. Kramer. On his website he mentions that he corrects a lot of Infapubic Penile Procedures because some doctors install too short of a cylinder. He mentions this on his site and it makes a-lot of sense. https://www.kramerurology.com/penile-im ... e-implant/

#3 Dr. Brian Christine was my 3rd choice but I cannot seem to have anyone from his office call me back:(

#4 Is the doctor that I'm currently booked with. Dr. Perito. I have read a lot about him and how busy his office is. How his office is a sausage factory. How he is cocky and arrogant. I've heard about some of his legal issues he had 10 to 15 years ago, etc, etc and it keeps going. However I have watched every youtube video that he has posted. He seems to know Dicks. Either doctor that I pick from out of town is basically going to be a one and done experience. If when I'm back home and I have follow up issues it will have to be with another local doctor. All I'm concerned about is finding the Best Doctor that can Perform Infapubic and perform the surgery well. I don't care if he's arrogant or rude. I will see him twice and fly back home. I'f a doctor is good that is who I want. Some of the best Athletes in the word are the best in the World at their jobs but are arrogant and rude. Enough about Aaron Rogers. LOL

I would be 100% all in if I could talk to someone around my age which is 52. That has had Infapubic Penile Implant and preferably had his surgery with Dr. Perito but if not another Doctor is fine. If there are a group of guys on this forum from 35 to 65 years of age would you mind talking with me by phone, text or email? Even better a local Charlotte Area Show and Tell would be great. Would anyone be willing to show pictures of their before and after Infapubic Surgery? No Porn Please. LOL

Just a Suggestion for Doctors or Web Developers. It would be great to have a site that guys like us can upload Pics and Videos of our Pre and Post Surgery results. When you google or youtube this all you see are the Surgical Experiences that look terrible. Of course there could be a website moderator to prevent porn style uploads. To actually have a site that you can see real Show and Tell experiences would be GREAT.

Thank you for your time. You Guys Rock!!

creighhill,

Feel for you brother. My only input is: Research where the tubes start and stop with each approach.

Best of Luck.

Funny, but I only wanted the scrotal insertion.
Worked fine and I think the recovery and risk of infection are bogus.
Good luck.

I had scrotal 6 weeks ago this coming Monday. Piece of cake. Not one day of pain. Yes some swelling and a bit of bruising but nothing shocking, That being said. Everyone is different.

Best of luck, I was so nervous going in but looking back I say to myself. This was not nearly as big a deal as I expected.

I must have been one of the biggest head cases here . It will be a year on April 5th and I couldn't be happier with it. Don't worry.

I agree with Cajun Jeff! My implant surgery was a piece of cake. I did not have any pain either. Hard to believe. I had bruising and swelling and used ice packs continually which really helped the swelling and bruising. I took some Tylenol as a preventative but didn't have any pain. I know we are all different. But I spent more time worrying about the surgery and it really wasn't a big deal. I had a drain for like three days and went to his office on Monday and they removed it. My activation date if Tuesday Feb 25th. Try not to worry and fret about it!

The peyronies forum dot net has an implant section w pre and post pics. Among your choices I’d start w Dr Kramer if you’re willing to switch to the penosrotal approach.

On my FT blog here I have posted pictures of my recovery post-surgery. Look at those to see what a peno-scrotal recovery looked like for me. Recovery was relatively easy, and I am really happy with the results.

Dr Carrion examined me to fix my distal crossover says Perito is very competent. I had both infra pubic and penoscrotal on my first surgery. Here is my question. Do you have a thick fat pad? Mine is about 2 inches thick and fat does not heal. They sliced my fat pad right down the middle then stitched and stapled it. 18 months later and it still itches (no it's not crabsLOL) My second surgery was penoscrotal went to lunch with my wife immediately afterward. I was scheduled for surgery with Kramer last year to fix things but cancelled and decided to wait until the unit naturally fails. Kramer has about a 1% infection rate. It's your team and the hospital that count not the method. Because of my fat pad I will never have infrapubic surgery again. Just had my prostate remove through my penis to avoid infrapubic.
But what ever you choose good luck.
