Hi everyone,

Well after years and years of struggling with worsening ED, I am finally starting to see doctors on the possibility of an implant. I haven't had sex in 1.5 years, am single, but am moving into my mid-thirties without a family and getting older. The thought of a successful implant is probably the main thing that's kept hope alive for me for years. I am curious if there are any others who successfully went through an implant operation before they turned 35-40 and what they would recommend given their experiences. I am concerned about the usual infections and losing length etc, but in the end, just dream of a functional penis that would allow me to form a relationship with a woman again.

Also, I'm curious how long the process was for you all. How long did you have to wait between finally finding the right surgeon and getting the operation and finally being ok again?

I'm obviously not a young guy, but the process from start to finish isn't very long.
I'd guess the longest part of the process is getting scheduled with a surgeon and a facility.

I'd guess maybe 3 months total, but that can vary +/- a month?

We are all different. Some guys on here took the plunge, and after a few months, started fucking like there was no tomorrow, lol. Only you can be the best judge on that note. Check with your Dr.
Some guys on here did not miss any inches after surgery, some, like me, did. Dr's goal is to make it functional, but cycle like crazy to get what you had.

I made my mind up that I needed a Uro-Lift to improve my urine flow, and a 3-piece inflatable due to severe ED and PD, in June 2019 after I had realized my out-of-pocket was almost met with my insurance and I had done tons of research on both procedures (including many videos of surgical procedures).

By June 19th, I saw a urologist for the first time and discussed everything. he put me on Cialis "on-demand" for ED and Uroxatral for BPH. I switched to quartering the 20 mg Cialis on-demand dosage and taking 5 mg daily due to headaches and other side effects.

Two weeks later, on July 3rd, I saw the doctor again, this time talking surgical procedures. Since the Uroxatral had not helped my flow rate I was asking to move forward with getting insurance approval for Uro-Lift. Scheduled a flexible cystoscope appointment, an ultrasound (separate visits, unfortunately) and got the IPSS survey completed and after three attempts with my insurance, got approval for Uro-Lift and had the procedure on August 12, 2019. Saw my doctor on September 4th, 2019 for followup and due to limited success with Cialis, asked him to submit a pre-approval request with my insurance for a 3-piece IPP. Approval for this was swift, possibly due to the Peyronie's Disease of which my insurance considers the implant a treatment for an organic damage/injury instead of for enhancement.

I was approved within two weeks and was scheduled for pretesting at the hospital on 9/23/19, with a surgery date of 10/28/19.

I was self-activating at 7 days while the doctor officially activated me at 15 days. I had a couple of self-luv sessions with happy endings, although not inflated, during that time.

I had was using a gel stroker before my 6-week release for sex and at my 6-week anniversary date I had my first attempt at penetrative sex. The first time was frustrating due to having been out of action for 20 years. After engineering a position that worked for my partner and myself, we had another attempt two weeks later and I had a better time of it.

I'm 128 days out and still haven't cum during sex but it's only a matter of time. I'm taking Cabergoline 0.5 mg twice weekly now and I'm considering the use of Oxytocin nasal spray to facilitate orgasm "on demand" while having engaged in sex. I may buy some to try it out...
