3.5 Weeks Post Op

As far as pain or discomfort goes, I’m back to normal. During the first two weeks, there was significant discomfort, particularly at work. I returned to my desk job on day 6. In hindsight, maybe a week too early. There was never what I would call pain. I plan to try to begin cycling this week. I’m still having a little trouble figuring out the layout and orientation of the AMS pump. It doesn’t help that my belly makes 2 handed exploration a challenge, but I’ll figure it out. Thanks to everyone here for telling your stories. I’m not sure I would have done this without you.

If you returned to your job on day six, then you are really a trooper. I was in pajamas with frozen peas down my pants in front of netflix for 3 weeks.

Dang I'm so jealous! I'm at 5 months and still have some discomfort. Don't even want to talk about the first few months.
Glad you had a easy time of it. Good luck!

I think that you have reminded us that sometimes we might be the limiting factor. We've talked about men with dexterity issues not being able to manipulate the pump. But as we age many men get a belly. That is another obstacle we need to get past. Age isn't kind. Good luck.

Figuring out the "layout" of the pump is difficult early on as everything down there is still swollen. I wasn't comfortable with the landmarks until week five.

It is hard to figure out where the pump is when there is still swelling. But the swelling will go down and the pump will be easy to find the release button and the ball to pump her up. I would say four to six weeks. Every person is different and like my revisions, the first revision took six weeks, ten months later because of the pump failure, the second revision I was all healed up in three weeks. I was shocked when the doctor gave me the green light to use it. I still waited for six weeks before I had sex. You do not want to rush and get an infection.

Your first implant lasted 15 years? That’s encouraging.

Congrats on your recovery!
I have a virtual visit with Dr. for follow up this coming Tuesday, 4/14, as I never was allowed the initial follow up in March.
Had surgery 3/2, pretty much healed on the outside here, but still uncomfortable doing the sex thing because inside is still healing.
Was not inflated after surgery, so did not go the usual 3 or 4 weeks of walking around with a 60% hard on (thank goodness for this).
My pump was installed a bit lower, so when I lay down for bed, since I am a side sleeper, the pump becomes bothersome. I have to sleep with a pillow, sides up and squished, in between my legs.
I think I may have found the pump valves, so going to try to inflate and release soon.

Thanks.
I’m happy to hear that I am not necessarily behind schedule on the cycling. I need to contact my surgeon to find out about the follow up. I saw him 4 days after the operation but he said he wanted to see me again toward mid - late April. I’m sure an in person visit is unlikely - especially since there are no obvious problems.

Good for you! I think we are going to have to do a virtual show and tell to the Drs. lol, instead of the pull down your shorts and lets see. Even with a high resolution cam, doubt you can do justice with a show and tell.
