OK, this may be one weird thought. Seeing guys posting that their implant has failed got my mind going in all directions.
If an implant fails could the cylinders be filled with something to bring back an erection? I know it would be a permanent erection, similar to a solid implant. And that would only be possible if the cylinders were intact, but maybe an option for a pump failure and the guy doesn't want surgery again.
Like I said, my mind comes up with some weird thoughts sometimes. I retired from the medical field as an Occupational Therapist, and that was part of the job, figuring out work arounds for things.

Any thing is possible but this kinda stuff is super regulated and any idea that you can think of has allready been discussed. I wish the cylinders were shaped like a erect penis with ridges and bumps, not straight smooth tubes.

Seriously though, if the cylinders were to be inflated with a rigid material of some sort such as a foam rubber, removal of the cylinders at a later date might become MAJOR surgery requiring a full or near full-length corporotomy to remove them, if it was even possible. Also, not counting the need to find a surgical-safe compound for the filler (of course PMMA and others are available), the next hurdle would be to whether any doctor would ever consider it... I'm guessing: NO.

On the other hand, removal of an inflatable implant filled with a semirigid material might be no more difficult than removal of a normal semirigid implant.

On the other, other hand, I have thought about (for men anticipating having multiple revisions in their lifetime) having a zipper installed in the penis. When a replacement implant is needed, just unzip, swap out, and zip,,, ready to go!

Brother, I had an implant that lasted 2.5 years and cannot wait to get a new one. Having an implant is a life-changing experience. It restored my confidence, dignity and hope in life. With all due respect to our female partners, a hard-cock makes a whole new change to the relationship. I do not believe it a bit when they say "I love you for who you are", this is all BS. A hard-cock in the bedroom makes is something else.

To sum it up, I'm getting the revision as soon as surgeries are allowed. If it fails again, I'm getting it again. Good luck.

Yes, for a long time after E.D. struck down my penis, my hands and my mouth gave good sex. But a double play is simply not as good as the triple play. Now that my penis is prostheticly functional, the relationship (al least FEELS as if it) is more complete and fully faceted.

Sometimes when I fall asleep fully inflated, I leak quite a bit of urine.

This reminds me of a case I read about earlier, even if not exactly the same:

the option was given to replace the inflatable prosthesis with a semirigid one or to simply top up the cavernosal cylinders, de-functionalize the IPP, and convert it into a “malleable” or fixed volume device by capping the cylinders, removing the pump and tubing, and leaving the empty reservoir in situ. This was accomplished and the patient was satisfied.
