implant removal without replacement

Postby william7 » Mon Apr 30, 2012 10:40 pm

I would like to hear from anyone who had an inflatable implant, then had it permanently removed without replacement. I'd like to know why you made that decision - whether it was because of complications like infection, erosion, surgical error or another reason. What led you to make that decision? What would you have done differently? What do you do to achieve "release?" You can post your reply here or if you prefer even more discretion, I would even appreciate a private message. Thank you.

I have an implant and honestly, I have no idea what would happen if something kept me from a new implant. Maybe they would used the semi rigid - non inflating implant to replace the infalted one? Looking forward to anyone's anwer who has been through this OR knows exactly what doctors would do.
