Implants and male arousal

Heading toward an inflatable implant IPP and was curious how the implant effects arousal. Even with my ED when I get aroused by my wife ect I typically get what I would call a chubby particularly with low dose viagra.... Not erect but a tingle and blood flow to the penis filling it out IE the beginning of an erection which is my sign to check the wife's oven and if its a go I do my injection so we can slow cook- you get the idea :) .
When you have an IPP implant do still get those signals IE the tingle and blood flow (a chubby) indicating its time prime the pump so to speak? If so I would assume the implant would have to displace that inflow unless the implants are encapsulated and in that case I assume you would have no blood inflow. Thanks ev1

Welcome to the forum, DIver Down.

Short answer, "no". My penis used to be my "barometer" or "leading indicator" of my state of arousal/desire. Now, I depend on more subtle signals. I will post links when I have time, but since today is Friday and I have weekend plans it may be a few days.

I posed the same question a year or so ago. Read old posts. I did and got a dose of information in a couple of weekends scanning interesting titles and reading what interested me. Well worth the time spent.

The "Search" function is your friend and just cruising through a couple years of past posts HIGHLY enlightening, as I wrote up above

Thanks for the welcome LS! I searched but found it difficult to sort through to find my answer. I will check your post around that timeline to see if I can locate your post.

Your short answer is helpful and I thought that may be the case, but wanted to check with those who are bionic. Curious what the "more subtle signals" would be...?

I did a search on (advanced search, using my name and some of these words, "arousal", "indicator", "subtle", "signal", "barometer", etc) and selected (out of the dozen or so pages of selections that showed up) and found the links I pasted (as an edit) in my earlier post.

When I first joined, I just spent a few hours a day on a couple weekends cruising through the old posts. I did not take so very long and was quite a lot more entertaining than watching an equivalent amount of television.

Just my opinion but, I think arousal, desire, etc. is "mental"....in your head more than in your dick....just my opinion....good luck man!!!

Depends on what you have now. You should have some blood flow to your glans when aroused. Hell, all my nerves were removed during an RP, and I get a tingle.

Thanks LM Cat and I could not agree more more on the mental part. For me it starts either mental or visual and maybe both. I start thinking about it or its kind of planned out, I like what I see, the mental part is sparked it starts to come together then the I get the semi wood and with a green light its time to inject. I assume with an implant the same indicators would happen without the semi wood unless I start pumping. It sounds like I will still have all the same metal and visual indicators creating arousal without the blood flow to create the semi wood (chubby).

Thanks for the links LS I will take some time to review this weekend!!

I agree. I think the proof is that an ED sufferer can get mentally aroused but his body doesn't respond. Thinking back to some of the best sex that I remember. My mental state sticks out way more than the memory of my erection.
The erection is the tool that your mind uses. Not the other way around.

Also, with the mental arousal minus an erection, it is still possible to have an orgasm and even ejaculate assuming the prostate is still intact. I was totally limp for a few years but I was still able to knock out an orgasm when aroused. There is a difference between arousal and erection: the latter (erection) is the result of the former (arousal) in a normal healthy male but the erection isn't needed to "finish", it's only needed for penetration.

I'm hoping the arousal factor isn't gone with me. It's been 5 weeks, and I no longer have any pain from the surgery, I cycle daily as directed, but my libido has been completely zero. I had a pretty low sex drive prior to surgery, but now, it's non-existent. I really can't even feel anything in the glans, it's completely numb to touch, I can't even sense when I am peeing, at least feeling the urine at the urethra as it's coming out like I did before surgery. I had mine done penoscrotally, so the nerves shouldn't have been affected. I had my testosterone checked just prior to surgery, and I am on depo-testosterone shots weekly, so that's not the issue. Not depressed/anxious. Just zero arousal feelings at all. Kinda depressing if getting an implant finished off my sex drive forever.
