Hey Guys,
I'm new to the forum and 1st would like to say thank you for being apart of this. Being able to come on here and get the shared knowledge is invaluable.
My story is i am 47 years old and i have been struggling with weak erections for about 10 years. I experimeted with some steriods in my 20's/30's which left me with a hormone inbalance that hinders my libido and erections. Apparently I have high SHBG which binds to my free testosterone and throws my libido out of wack.
I've been able to use cialis/viagra sucessfully up until about a year ago but it is now down to about a 15% success rate. Also tried TRT and HRT to try to boost my overall Test levels, but it gives me horrible sides and i don't have kids yet so i'm worried about the natural shut down. Tried the injections.. which work so so but are kind of a achey erection that im not happy with.
Now with all the failure i'm in my head big time and i've lost confidence. Went to Dr Eid and got checked out and apparently there is no physical issues. So my choice of the implant would be to overcome the pyshogenic ed and my hormone imbalance.
Eid suggested daily cialis for 30 days and follow up with him... I can't see it working as i been poppin 40 milligrams at a time and getting no reaction..
What I would like the group to advise me of.. is if someone in my position should consider an implant under these circumstances? I am desperate and don't want to make an emotional decision. I'm depending on the insight from guys who have made the decision to implant on what they would do in my shoes.
Thank you in advance for any feedback.

I counsel exploring ALL less-invasive remedies before going under the knife.

implants have a 90% satisfaction or somewhat satisfied rate. BUT, most guys have tried everything else first. I would say no. I had a fabulous sex life till cancer ended it. I was without erections only one year. I can tell you an implant does not begin to replace a blood filled dick. Solve your other problems.

Hey man how ya doing? So when you say eid checked you and there is nothing physical did he do a Doppler and an overnight stay where they check your night time erections?? Did he say to you he thinks it’s psychological? And finally is there not drugs or a way to sort out your hormones? Sorry for all the questions

Dude, Eid is amongst the best of the best. Do what he's telling you to do. It's actually quite refreshing to hear of a high volume implanter (this one arguably the very best) suggesting something OTHER than going straight to an implant.
Also I'm no expert but I believe daily Cialis helps with restoration (smooth muscle etc) whereas on demand use does not.
29. Mild ED since 2018 most likely caused from CPPS. Can still have hard erections and have sex but morning wood is rare and also have PE. May occasionally take Viagra 25mg with good results.

The questions are not a bother at all, thanks for responding
yes, Eid did the Doppler test which revealed blood flow on both sides from my arteries was considered normal. He said they were "39". I did not do an overnight stay. The injection for the Doppler at 20mcg of edex gave me a wobbly erection that was very uncomfortable/painful. Left me sore and achey.
Eid didnt say directly its psychological..thats my assumption because he clearly stated physically i'm fine. Im aware of my hormonal imbalance but its been present for the last 10 years.. pills stopped working about year ago during covid and some stress in my relationship.. cannot get back on track so Im sure its a psycological elimate.
My hormone issue again is high SHBG. this hormone binds to your free testosterone that limits its activity. There is no effective way to lower SHBG thru meds or other means so the strategy is to boost your testostorone to really high levels to compensate for whats being lost to the SHBG. Boosting test thru TRT or HRT for me has been a horrible experience. between the Gyno(hard painful lumps developed behind nipples) heart palipatations, shortness of breath, mood swings and risk of becoming infertile to just name a few. I decided its not for me. Apparently my bodies to senstive..

Re: Should I consider implant with pyschogenic/hormone induced ED
Sorry to hear about all this man. The worst thing is you have multiple possibilities why your erections and libido are shot. That is not easy. The fact that there is no effective way to sort out your hormone problem is a big issue. Like let’s say you get the implant so that sorts out getting an erection but would it sort out your libido?? There’s a lot of very intelligent guys on this maybe look through the threads and pm some of them!! Lostsheep seems very well up on all things implant!! Best of luck buddy I feel for ya!!

Re: Should I consider implant with pyschogenic/hormone induced ED
But on the physcogenic part I can say that I got Ed at17/18 and always thought it was my mind because of other issues I’ve had was always down to the mental side of things. So I was with a psychosexual counsellor for a long time and I had all the tests done Doppler, over night stay(where I didn’t sleep at all due to a sleeping problem) obviously did every Ed drug injection ved. Got the venous ligation surgery. Did everything. But my counsellor was 100% sure it was psychological and a big part of me thought that too. But the tests said otherwise!! But anyways there was still a big part of me said “hold out till you get your head fully sorted” so years went by but I’m afraid I just couldn’t get my head sorted actually I was getting worse and worse as I was going from teens to early 20s I was drinking and fighting more pissed out and sad more. So I had a sit down with my Spock like logical older brother. Told about all this and what it’s doing to me and I just said this might be psychological but I’ve given it years and I’m only getting worse And too be honest I can’t last much longer.. he took all the information and digested it and came back with get the implant. Get a good implanter and research all about it. So that’s what I did and honestly I had a rocky start but now I would have got the implant a lot earlier!! Also a lot of time I was hoping for some special drug or anything to come out but it never happened.. and also once I got the confidence and the implant and me became friends my libido shot up im a horn dog completely now. My poor girlfriend so if you do get the implant I’d be hopeful that your libido and energy and happiness will improve even with your hormone issue!!

Thanks so much for sharing your process!
The hormone issue will keep my libido down, so im aware the implant wont correct that. The way i have worked thru the low libido is i've been lucky enough to partner with very sexually aggressive women. So they usually have a Libido strong enough to pull me in even if my desire is not strong. So I have been able to pop a pill.. and perform with a great deal of my satisfaction coming from my abilty to please. So with my personal satisfaction not being the emphasis.. my whole sexual experience is built on my ego and confidence being feed by performing well...which has been fulfilling. So to end up in my current position... not being able to perform AND having a sex crazed girlfriend who wants it all the time.. the pyshological issue is really getting bad. I also believe an implant would have a similar affect as you had.. as once I know i have the confidence to perform.. I will be able to more motivated and possible better libido. I just hope I get a boost from this daily cialis..because the pain injections causes me ..they are not an option.
