It's happening!

Yikes! This all just got very real. The surgeon’s office called today to schedule my implant. It is tentative, pending all the insurance hoops, but should be fine with Medicare and a good supplement plan.
I just met with the doctor last week, so this happened fast. I’m going with Dr Etai Goldenberg here in St Louis, and I really like him as opposed to the other doc I met with. I also talked to the AMS rep, the patient liaison and one of his implant patients. All good endorsements. Goldenberg spent almost an hour on the exam and patiently answering every question I put to him. Of course, this is all supposition until the actual surgery, and I was concerned about my large Peyronie’s dorsal plaque, which he said wouldn’t present problems, he thinks he will install an AMS CX, that will probably be between 18 and 21cm. Have no idea how he came to that conclusion, but the guy handles a lot of dicks and he pulled on mine plenty! His office staff and nurses were all very friendly and efficient which I think is also a big positive.
The implant will be done in a surgery center as opposed to the hospital primarily because of Covid he likes to keep patients away from hospitals with hoards of people and germs. I'm good with less contact.
So now, all I have to do is deal with is the anticipation, fear and nervousness for two and a half months. Again, yikes!

Knowledge dispels fear.
Go back a few years' worth of posts and spend your worry time just reading other men's testimonies, the good and the bad. It will help gel your resolve.
How the good does that is obvious. How the bad does that is that you will know the rarity of bad outcomes and the ease with which such outcomes can be avoided or dealt with.

I got mine in Sept. worst part was the catheter, 2nd was no nookie for 6 weeks.
My doc had me partially pumped and wanted me to keep my woo-hoo pointed up for the whole 6 weeks. Most discomfort was gone in 14 days. The doc recommended tighty whities but I got a bunch of jock straps off Amazon to keep things supported.
Don't forget to take some 'before' selfies
Before I was a 'quick draw' now I can perform like a porn star.

Doctor said he would send me home 70% inflated for first two weeks, and activate at two week follow-up. That seems like a lot of inflation for that long, and activating at two weeks strikes me as really aggressive. Is it or not?

I went in for my activation at day 15 (two weeks). I had actually minimally cycled twice between 7-10 days but played dumb when he showed me how to do it.
Be warned however - if you choose to break the doctor's rules and cycle prematurely, there could be serious consequences. I found out after the fact that my strict "TWO WEEK" cycling restriction and "SIX WEEKS" before any sort of penetrative sex were put in place partly because there was major work done in my right crus due to scarring. Had I pumped too much those first too times or hadn't been able to release properly, I could have blown out the proximal stitches holding in my right cylinder. I was lucky. Don't do what I did unless you accept the potential consequences for your actions.

Each surgeon is different. I’m 3 weeks post implant and my surgeon waits until 6 weeks out to begin pumping. Left with minimal pumping. This was at Mayo Jacksonville.
Hope your recovery will be as easy as mine. Minimum pain/swelling and no bruising.
Be sure to begin colace 4-6 days before surgery and stay on several days after stop narcotics. I have found the Separatec pouch underwear the best for me. Bought jock straps but didn’t like to feel.
Best of luck.
