Sputnik,
Yes My implant was done by a female urologist. She did a great job, and all times the office calls were good. She was difinately wanting to help me have a full life. She welcomed my wife to the consultations and answered any questions she had.
I would difinately recommend her. Yes, it is a bit disconcerting to be talking to a woman about that at first. But really, from starting to get prescriptions for pills to injections the first call to the doctor a woman answered the phone and asked why I wanted to see the doctor.

Hey Sputnik - I thought I'd jump in and lend you my 2 cents. Although my implant surgeon was a male, his PA (Physicians Assistant) is female. I spent about equal time with each of them.

I will tell you I started out VERY apprehensive about discussing all of my issues with her at first ... she's a FEMALE after all. But after a few conversations with her I realized my fears were completely misplaced. It's all about the person and how they treat you. After a few visits I realized she was both very professional and also very concerned about my problems and genuinely wanted to help me. Also - you realize after a couple visits to the urologists office that everyone there has simply seen it ALL already - and there is just no reason to be shy or self conscious with a female professional.

I am happy to go see either her or the surgeon now - I know they both have my best interest at heart. That's what matters, that's what you should be looking for. I have read several excellent reviews on this site for female implant surgeons - I wouldn't hesitate to use one if I didn't like mine so so much already ;)

After I turned 15 and said goodbye to my female pediatrician, I never had another female MD. Only once had female dentist who handled tooth extraction so poorly so I never went to female dentist again.
When it comes to genito-urinary tract issues I would never see female urologist even if she is the only urologist in town.
My wife also said that female gynecologistS are so rough and impractical that she stopped seeing female gynecologist after her first pregnancy some 30+ years ago.

Strange how life changes us.

I was a hard core Male FFFF dude in my early 20's. Joined the Military and my first complete, Glove snapping, physical was with a Navy Female Flight Surgeon. I lost a lot of attitude and gained respect for all women working in a male dominated environment.

Since then, I have to pay extra to be "probed" up in there.
