Implant Pump Failure
Ive been in hiding for a while. The last 6 months my MS has been kicking my ass, plus Ive been recovering from a double spinal fusion. Yep - Ive hit the lottery of FUCK ME. So now for the latest problem. Since my implant - things have never been the same ( coming up on 2 years now ) . I was very bent before, now almost completely straight. I've never gotten back my original length or girth.... My wife and I have never been able to have truly enjoyable sex since.. The last 2 months Ive never been able to get as hard as I was the 20 or so months before - making sex almost impossible. Now today - the pump ( AMS700 ) Is completely stuck.. Can only squeeze it once - and it will not refill. The ONLY way to get it to bubble back up - is to squeeze the penis to fill it back up.. , I have a feeling this thing is completely toast. .......... Anyone know any tricks - before I call up my surgeon tomorrow to effectively freak the fuck out. With everything Ive gone through the last few years - Im not sure I can handle anything else.... For anyone else thats had a failure - how many tests did they have to do before they got approval to get a replacement.. For those that got a replacement - did insurance cover it.. How long was the 2nd recovery... . Thanks in advance everyone..

Re: Implant Pump Failure
Contact your AMS rep. They should have some good info and you want to get on record for a replacement pump if it has failed. May take a few days for them to call you back. Check your paperwork if you still have it for your reps number or contact AMS.
Have you tried to squeeze the ends of the deflate button block? Your user dvd should have info also on that. If you don't have it try this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwp0YfSLxIU At about 8:50 in starts the trouble shooting section. I would start from the beginning and work through it. If none of that works then your AMS rep should have other procedures to use. Let me know how this works. Doctors a lot of time do not have the info.
Good luck

Re: Implant Pump Failure
I am dealing with a similar performance failure with my three year old Titan. About two weeks ago, I noticed the bulb would not reinflate after about 20 pumps. The next try was about 16 and the third was less than 10.
I strongly suspected a leak, based on other posts here on FT. I called my surgeon and he gave the same diagnosis over the phone and confirmed it with ultrasound in his office last week. I’m scheduled for a revision in March.
Insurance has not yet weighed in, but I expect the implant hardware will be replaced under warranty. The issue of whether or not I should have the implant is moot, so all insurance should have to deal with is a failed implant has to come out.
I anticipate I will be out of pocket up to my annual maximum.
Not the thing I wanted to deal with, but it is what it is. I’m available to share notes or otherwise be a sounding board for you, bent.

Re: Implant Pump Failure
I hope you can get fix for this rather than going through another surgery. Did you try the ones on the AMS dvd or link I listed? Did you have a chance to talk with your AMS rep?
Good luck with this.

Re: Implant Pump Failure
Its a failure. Confirmed by the doctor. Gonna be at least 3 months to get it replaced as Covid is stalling everything.

Dr Hakky is my surgeon as well. What pump did you have? One Touch pump or the Genesis pump?
Implanted by Dr. Hakky on August 6th, 2018 Coloplast 22 cm. Genesis pump failure 8/17/19. Revision 9/10/2019. Genesis pump failed 2/27/2020 while having sex. Second revision scheduled 4/7/2020 with new Titan One Touch pump instead of Genesis

I understand I have what is called the "classic" pump. This is the name a Coloplast patient educator explained to me when I had circulated a pic viewtopic.php?f=6&t=9417 here a few years ago. The Genesis is the brand name Coloplast gives to its malleable prosthesis https://www.coloplast.us/genesis-en-us.aspx and, while I have seen it used to describe the "old" pump, I doubt that Coloplast would want to create any confusion about its products' brand names.
Here is a pic of the keychain pump I received after my surgery.
On my office visit, Dr. Hakky reported that the classic pump is no longer available and he would be installing the One Touch version. I am pumped.

No Mike, Coloplast in their infinite marketing wisdom actually named one of their pump models, "GENESIS", just like the name of the malleable implant. It has confused several people here and caused some erroneous correct posts in the past 15 months that I've frequented Frank Talk.
