Nervous
Nervous
My implant surgery is scheduled for a couple weeks from now and it’s starting to get real. I’m panicking a little to be honest. Doctor wants to give me a titan but I see here there seems to be a lot of titan failures after 2 or 3 years? Is this normal?

Re: Nervous
There are Titan failures and there are AMS failures. Reliability wise, I don't think there is much difference. I had my surgery two and a half months ago. I couldn't wait for the date to get here. I was excited that it was finally going to happen. I felt like a little kid waiting for Santa to come.
Implanted 2020 Nov 30 with Titan 22cm, no RTEs by Dr Dineen in Daytona Beach.
TURP for BPH 2020 Jul 27. Resulted in RE.
ED started around 2005.

Re: Nervous
There are failures with both companies involving a lot of variables.I have a Titan and very pleased with it!You can’t go into this worrying about a failure.Could it happen?Yes.Will it happen?Probably not anytime soon!Get it done and get your sex life back,I did and couldn’t be happier!

Re: Nervous
Dr Eid, who is arguably the #1 penile implant surgeon in the world, believes that the Coloplast Titan cylinders are more durable than AMS cylinders.

Re: Nervous
Most guys get many years out of their Titans. Just like the AMS.
The one thing that was told to me to help with anxiety, which helped me a great deal was, it doesn't matter if your nervous. It's an deeply unpleasant experience, but it isn't going to change anything. All you have to do is turn up, get on the table and fall asleep!
It just acceptance, the obvious, but it made me more zen at least. You can be as nervous as you want, you're not doing the surgery.

Nervousness is normal when it becomes a reality that you're going to have the surgery. I was the same way for a while but the closer it got the more I looked forward to it. I also have a Titan and i'm very happy with it .
Your surgeon does this for a living and there are factors that made him choose the Titan for you. Go with his advice and you'll be happy. Good luck buddy

I would be concerned about you if you weren’t a little nervous! I was a basket case the day before my surgery. I would have paid $50 to talk with someone who had this the day before my surgery. I was a nervous wreck. I will make myself available if you need someone to talk too. My surgery was nothing! It effects everyone differently from what I hear and read. Seriously, I did not have any pain or any problems. I had to go home with a drain over the weekend because I take blood thinner meds and haD minor oozing. Not bleeding just oozing. I wish you the best in your surgery and I’m sure you will do fine. Take care of yourself and do exactly what your doctor tells you to do. Best of luck to you.

Re: Nervous
Thanks for the reassurance guys.
I guess part of the difficulty is the permanence of the surgery. I’ll never be the same after this. Just like when I developed Peyronies a year ago. I want to go back to things before but that ain’t gonna happen.
It’s the weirdness of the “new normal”, to use a phrase we’ve all heard a lot lately. The implant being the new normal is what I’m nervous about. Trying to wrap my head around that

Re: Nervous
I flew to Seattle, had doctor appointment, never saw doctor before. After appointment it was decided to do surgery the next morning. Mo time to get nervous. I had made my decision to have it done as I was tired of my ED. Tried Cialis with a little success, then tried injectables with little success but urology doctor monitoring the injections was little to no help and after 14 months of paying him BIG buck in health care costs found new urologist in Spokane. He in turn reviewed my medical records and do to having a neobladder recommended me go see his ex partner in Seattle. So made appointment with him. Had appointment and then the next day became bionic. With little to no issues in the last 18 months.
Comments anyone....
