Can’t seem to find any info on danger/complications from staying inflated for lengthy periods (4-5 hours). I know my “conservative” surgeon probably wouldn’t recommend it. As I lost 2 inches in length, hoping staying inflated will help (along with using VED at times). Any advice appreciated.
First of all you need follow your doctors orders until fully healed and released. Usually 3 months and you are are past that but I needed to get that out of the way as a disclaimer. As I am not a doctor and can only give you my own understanding of what I have read and gone through.
What you are attempting to do is stretch the tissue and cylinders. You really do not need to do both long pump adding inflations and VED stretching. One or the other will do the same thing. The information I have read is VED will work quicker. This is the instructions from a recent paper: Starting 3 weeks after discharge,
patients were asked to use a vacuum device for a 12-week
period (Medis®, Vacuum Therapy Devices, Milan, Italy and
Osbon ErecAid®, Vacuum Therapy System, Collierville,
TN, USA) without the constriction ring for 5 min twice
daily after full device inflation was achieved.
This is the publication link:
https://irp-cdn.multiscreensite.com/d88 ... action.pdfSome thing that should be noted about that paper is that all men in the study had early activation and as the well known FL doctor on that paper uses Infrapubic incision and I am guessing the incision was far enough from the base of the shaft to permit early VED use. And even though that doctor is said to be a Coloplast only doctor all men in the study like you and I had LGX devices.
I did not use VED therapy. I used pump adding inflation. Where I would add or force additional pumps after 3-5 minutes and repeat. This for an hour each day. And I had improvements out past 1 year.
What you are looking to do is feel a bit of stretching. But you do not want pain. You need to be careful with a VED not to pump fast. The fine capillaries can be damaged if you pump to fast as they cannot move the blood fast enough and you need to keep from pumping up to much vacuum. Using your LGX like I did you pump until you feel stretching and wait until that improves and then add or force addition pumps or partial pumps. 2 30 minute session a day I think would be better but I did some one hour ones. And I did fall asleep at night several times with this. When I woke up I did deflate.
I think it is best if you deflate after 30 minutes to an hour or so. If you are doing a long all night sex session or stretching. Just take at least a 5 minute break to deflate and the inflate again to release the pressure. Another way to use VED is in this publication:
https://augustams.com/how-to-use-a-peni ... -exercise/ Step 1:
Apply lubricant around the open end of the cylinder, head of the penis, and 2 inches inside the cylinder.
Step 2:
While standing, Place the penis in the cylinder and establish a good seal between the body and the cylinder. (In some cases it might be necessary to trim down the pubic hairs a bit to make skin contact in order to create a strong seal.)
Step 3:
Use the one finger activated ultra-ease mechanism to squeeze the lever 3 times and slowly count to 10 (for the battery-operated vacuum head press down on the button for 5 seconds, release the button, and slowly count to 10) repeat this process until the head of the penis lifts-up from the bottom of the cylinder and you have achieved full penile engorgement.
Step 4:
Hold the fully engorged erection without movement inside the cylinder for 3-5 minutes.
Step 5:
Press the round black release button and hold it until the vacuum leaves the cylinder and the penis returns to a flaccid or non-erect state. Keep the cylinder firmly placed against the body making sure you have maintained the seal between body and cylinder. Repeat steps 3 through 5.
In one session create, maintain, and release 3-5 erections before removing the penis from the cylinder.
Clean cylinder with light soap and warm water, wipe negative pressure device with a damp cloth and store the device.
This demonstrates my statement about pumping a VED slowly and using just enough vacuum. Of course this was not for implanted men that already have fully pumped and have an erection to start with. So it is best to have a VED with a gauge to watch so you can make sure you don't create to much vacuum. This also fits the the first study I linked to.
The thing to understand is more is not better in this case. More can actually be worse. As you can cause damage that can result in loss. I was over a year until I reached my current length. So gains are very slow and a lot of work. Others have posted quicker results with VED but it still takes months. You just need to resume your cycling routine with some changes. No need to double up if you miss a session or day.
Like I said I am not doctor and you can read the papers I have linked to and decide for yourself.
Good luck with this.
