I am a STRONG advocate of a patient being an integral part of the medical team and DEEPLY involved in the decision-making process. If you are not among that type (and I do not fault anyone for taking the opposite view - simply putting oneself in the hands of your chosen expert care-giver - each philosophy has its merits and drawbacks).
If you are in the former group, I suggest you have a VERY frank talk with your surgeon about your post-op length expectations. In preparation for that talk, take very careful measurements of you penis (as erect as you can make it) in length and girth. Ask your surgeon to tell you how aggressively he sizes you during surgery. (To get an idea of what is meant by "sizing" and "aggressively", DO view as many videos of the implant surgery as you can. The insertion of the measuring tool is quite, uh, vigorous.
Many men are disappointed in their size post-op and many surgeons are wary of the unrealistic expectations that some men have (remembering, perhaps with rose-colored glasses, the size of their youth). Convince your surgeon that you are not one of "those" patients, but that you expect a dedicated effort on his part to restore as much as it humanly possible or your CURRENT size and to enable as much of your POTENTIAL size (recently lost size can be recovered, over time). VED therapy for 30-60- days before surgery can make a significant difference, as well, so ask how he/she feels about that preparation.
Good luck..
Foreknowledge is worth the effort to gain it.

Thank you for the advice. I've been using a VED and pump regularly for a while. He told me to continue. I'll talk to him about it.

My urologist also leaves you un-inflated after the implant, but he does have you activate quickly.

Congrats!
Does the time the surgery is scheduled bothers you?
Maybe I'm overthinking, but my surgery is scheduled for the same time of the day (7 am). It's too early. Will my doctors be well-rested?
I want them to have a deep rest night hahah

I work in a hospital records section. As I pick up paperwork, I often overhear the surgery section calling people scheduled the next day. One doctor I overheard said he goes to bed as early as possible. Early surgeries are the rule. I guess you get the doctor "fresh" and not after the cares and the work of the other surgeries of the day pile on. The only thing I "worry" about (besides the results) the time is getting up at 4 a.m. to get there for it.
Thanks for the observation.

I talked with my AMS rep this afternoon. She said they would be implanting the AMS 700 LGX on Apr 12. I talked with her about measuring for the implant. Earlier today, I sent the doctor an email asking about how he measures and explaining/expressing my concerns about it. The rep said that they will size the implant the day of surgery. She also said that the guys she worked with experienced an increase in size with the LGX implant and "use" (inflating and deflating for a few minutes a couple of times each day) and my continued use of the pump.
I have my preop exam next week. I'm still excited and anxious (no anxiety).

AMS Rep? I must have missed something as I did not have an AMS rep--although I wish I did. How do I get one of these?
Also--be excited, I was. And now almost six weeks after being implanted I am even more excited! My new penis is fun to use and enjoy again.
