I'm new to the board and thanks to everyone for their input. I'm schedule for AMS implant with Dr. Ben Breyer out of UCSF, Dr. Tom Lue protégé, on 17 May. Like others, nervous but anxious and ready to put ED behind me and make the wife happy again. Question to the board, I wear a stiff belt tight on my waist. What concerns should I have with the reservoir and/or tubing? Breyer suggested no belt for several weeks but would appreciate any feed back from the group.

45acp1911,
My reservoir is well below my belt line. After surgery, the reservoir needs time to "settle" in, so scar tissue can surround it. I didn't wear belts or tight fitting clothes for 4+ weeks after my implant.

The thing about belts is that you can wear them as tight as you want. My belt line was close and I wore mine looser for a long time afterwards. I did have discomfort with my reservoir after implant. No real way to tell now if you will or will not have this. Just something to be ready for if you do. This is something that can take a long time to adjust to. But some don't have much trouble at all.
I almost forgot to say welcome to the site and best of luck going forward with this.

Well I actually started wearing sweat pants after my implant. My normal wear of jeans just made me sore by afternoon from the friction. The belt didn't bother me at all. And I wear my belt tight because I got no butt to hold my pants up.
Now that I'm well healed jeans with my belt is fine. However since about all I do is hang around the house most days I still wear sweat pants.

My reservoir was inserted through the incision in my scrotum and placed between the muscle on the bones and my abdominal fat layer. Well below belt line......yes I wear a gun belt also.

My reservoir is under the muscle just touching the top of my belt line. My pants all fit a little tighter from winter and covid19. I also like a snug wide belt. It was a little uncomfortable for the first few weeks but at 6 months I don't even notice.

This topic hits home for me, I feel your pain. Its the only part of my implant that I am not happy with. My reservore was placed smack dab on my belt line and it is annoying when driving as the seat belt hits right on the reservore. My reservore was placed from the testiculal, It is sticking out my right side and was the first thing I noticed after surgery. I was hoping it would change for the better but it has not. The sales info from AMS says everything fitted is not noticeable externally. Im in good shape for an old guy and on the thin side. Its one month on Monday from my operation, now I see my surgeon for the first time. I suspect it’s going to be some sort of surgical fix, Damn! I’m feeling great - I have a dependable dick now and ready to get some projects done and enjoy my summer. Well I will see what next Monday
Good luck all, Cbinspok
