Hi, I am just wondering about the longlivety about penile implants.
Docs and manufactors are saying an implant will work for 10-15years, some even longer.
I guess Coloplast says that they last thousands of Inflations. Now i am here at franktalk and I am reading that it fails very often between 1-5years.
Now thats a big difference!
Are here (franktalk) only the unlucky guys and the implantees with 10-15years or longer have no time for franktalk?
Would be great if you could write which implant you have/had and how long it last s?
Thanks!

I have a Titan installed 2008. It quit working this past September, but was very rarely inflated (maybe once every 3 months or so) along the way - see my signature.

My doc wants me to get a Coloplast, he said he would be very upset if I don't get 12-15 years out of it at least.

Well I do doubt the figures. My first coloplast titan was done 1/2/20. And my next Titan was install 4/9/21. So while it was a great year with my Titan. It only lasted for 13 months. Now I am on Titan number 2. Hoping for the best.

Would you say its better having an implant installed which doesnt work then having an not working dick without the equipment installed?
I guess now you have a package down there which is better.

Implant all the way. My problem was PD, not Ed. However, if committing to a implant is the way to go, it does come with some problems. Revision is one of those. After all peyronies treatments surgery was the last straw. My 2nd implement showed no scar tissue, so the implant worked. I think mine broke because of a tubing. Or surgical error.

If I understand your question correctly, I guess I'd just as soon not have the defunct implant, especially the reservoir. With no desire for sex due to my stroke, whether my dick works or not or whether I have a "package" doesn't matter to me at all. At my age (77), who cares?

A lot of guys here had revisions after 2 or 3 years.
Why that? Bad surgeon and bad implant placement or the estimation of 10~15 years is a lie?

My implant lasted all of 13 months. I think mine was surgical. I could feel tubing in my groin. When inflated it would get hard. It was like a loop under skin. Surgeon discounted it. He knew what it was. I think many revision are surgical errors. IMHO. I am 2 weeks post op.

After reading everything.... maybe a malleable implant is the right choice.
Manufactor say it last s 10-15years or longer, in reality it s 1-5years...
