On most days, I find myself inflated by the end of the day. I’m not complaining, as it’s nice to feel some size in the boxer briefs again. However, my doc did say the AMS valves have been a problem. I’m just thankful the valve issue is not the other way around, in which it won’t hold.

Anyone else have these issues with this pump?

Yes. Both brands have had pump issues. And not just this one. The valve must be built really tight to last a long time and not wear out quickly. So it does seem to have trouble at first in many cases. I would just deflate as much as I could squeezing the cylinders and then add a pump or 2 to pop the valve into inflate mode. That seemed to get the pump frozen were it would stay the same until I would cycle again. I would start out depressing the deflate button and then inflate. It did get better and at one point if I took a break from cycling the cylinders would continue to compress with my daily movements until the distal tips were out of the glans and it caused a bit of discomfort and again I would add a pump or 3 back in to help out until I could cycle again.

For me... I discovered much less "auto fill" when I released the AMS deflate button after just 4 seconds and just continue to squeezed the tubes to empty as apposed to holding the button the entire deflating time.

To add when mine works correctly the pump continues to buzz with fluid going back into the reservoir when I release the deflate button. If this stops I depress the button again until it does.

My doc wonders if it's not the value, but the reservoir that's being squished in a location that's too tight. I have a CT scan next week to determine if this is indeed the issue. Since I've met my maximum out of pocket with my insurance for this year, a replacement system isn't out of the question.

I hate to think of enduring another surgery, though. Does anyone know if they could replace the unit with one that might give me greater girth and length? That might be the deciding factor for me.

It's not uncommon that during implant replacement surgery, the surgeon can place a longer device in compared with the one that was in before. However the AMS implants generally only come in one girth size (assuming you didn't get the narrow CXR model). If you really wanted a shot at more girth you could ask your surgeon for a Coloplast Titan, as those do sometimes have a chance of increasing girth.

Revisions often wind up with an implant larger than the original but keep in mind two things. A longer implant may not mean a longer usable penis. Compression of your tissues in your crus or in your glans could consume some or all of the increased size. The revisions that result in larger implants are most often after a number of years. Time enough for organic tissue stretching to take place.

So, while one actually COULKD get a longer (external measurement) usable penis, it is not something one should count on, as the increase is likely to be marginal and only after a longer time than weeks or months. But there is always hope. While the tunica is a fibrous non-stretchy tissue structure, it is living tissue and can be induced to grow.

Listen to you surgeon. If a revision is indicated, I would take it, to ensure optimal operation for years to come of good sex.
