Some advice please brothers

Postby Jonarr » Tue Aug 17, 2021 6:07 am

Guys I’m so glad to have found this forum as I’ve been struggling a bit emotionally since my implant on 10th. I had a bad experience in the NHS hospital when they’d bound me up with my foreskin rolled back and during the night massive blisters broke out on the glans which started weeping fluid. I honestly thought the thing had burst or something and there was a medical emergency and it’s was 6 hours before a doctor became available, diagnosed the problem and poppped the fore skin back into place.
Anyway I was discharged and don’t have a follow up appointment for 6 weeks.
I barely spoke to the consultant who carried out the surgery I suspect he doesn’t do many of these procedures. My immediate problem is that I was told the device (AmS 3 piece I think) had been deflated when I left. It clearly hadn’t as it’s still quite rigid and is sticking out perpendicular to my body when I stand. This means having to pee in a bottle and the pain builds up quite quickly when I move around. I would dearly love to see the NHS consultant and have tried to book into his private clinic for extra time but there’s nothing free until 1st September and I’m supposed to be back at work next week which involves public speaking! (Im a charity CEO)
I was told not to try using the device myself, but confess to downloading the manual and trying to deflate but couldn’t manage it somehow. Now I am fearful the device may be malfunctioning or incorrectly fitted.
Any advice or wisdom would be greatly appreciated I’m hoping I am just being over anxious

I'm sorry you're having these problems.

My advice is to find a good, experienced doctor and get in to see him or her as quickly as possible. It sounds like you are at least partially inflated. If I were you, I wouldn't try to deflate without the approval and guidance of my doctor. If the earliest you can see someone is the 1st, then I would put off going back to work until after that appointment.

Like you, I have a job that requires a lot of standing and interacting with others. Doing that while inflated was going to be impossible. I don't understand why you don't have a follow-up appointment sooner than six weeks. After the surgery, my doctor left me 60% inflated. I had my first follow-up appointment in two weeks, and he fully deflated me. He gave me strict instructions to leave my dick alone until my second follow-up appointment, which was eight weeks after surgery because he was so busy. Then he taught me how to inflate and deflate.

Even after I was first fully deflated, I had some pain and discomfort for weeks, especially when moving around. I had to walk bow legged because the implant is quite rigid for a while. And my whole deck was sensitive to contact, so even with the loose pants I bought to wear, I was still having to adjust myself regularly to deal with the awkwardness.

I don't know anything about the health care system in England. But I hope you can get in to see a good doctor soon.

Thank you very much for the replies guys. It’s a relief to talk about it with real people when you’re stuck at home recovering with only your imagination as a source of feedback.
Time2Change I was wondering when you said the implant remains rigid for a while at first even when deflated how rigid that is, if it’s possible to describe rigidity in a post. I was a bit concerned leaving the implant inflated for weeks might be damaging in some way. The doctor told me he deflated me before discharge but it feels quite stiff, is at 3pm to the body although if I bend it midway I can get it to flex about 60 degrees upwards.
I’m 56 not in my 20s, probably saw this consultant first about 2 years ago he’s called Mr Edhem at Harrogate hospital. I feel very blessed to have got the procedure funded through the NHS when there are 5.5 million people on their waiting list. I’m sure he’s an excellent surgeon but my sense is this is a very specialist field and my guy does lots of other urological work. I guess we can’t all see the very few numbers of highly specialised and experienced people that are around

I went thru the same thing and the reason is because there are two rods on either side of your penis. When I went to the dr on my first visit I was partially erect and he delfated the unit and told me it was ok to have done so before I saw him. So you can deflate it by either pushing on the button or squeezing your penis since it's partially erect but don't do both at the same time or you'll break the device according to my Dr. But you'll be ok in a months time just hang it there.

Good Luck!

I’m sorry to hear you are having issues. I can’t speak on many of your concerns, but they sticking straight out seems fairly common and one I have. I am looking for a firm pair of underwear that will press the penis straight up against my body. Many suggested 2 pair of briefs. This does work, but I also have peyronies causing mine to simply fold in half pointing back towards me. I have a hernia sling coming today that I’m hoping will keep everything straight and tight against the body so I can begin work next week.

This makes me so angry to read. I see my doc every week for 6 weeks following. I hope you get in with another doc soon and get this sorted. The anxiety is maddening but our bodies are resilient and the tech is unimaginable from a few decades ago. Hang in there and everything gets better in a few weeks.

The tubes are kind of like a new pair of shoes. They take some use before they start to become more flexible. When deflated, even at the beginning of my recovery period, my dick hung down around 5 o'clock.

But for the first three to four months, I felt like I had a wooden stick shoved against my leg. I wear straight-leg pants normally, but I couldn't wear them until four months after the surgery.

It is a little difficult to make a decision on this:
1. Not many doctors would accept to see patients who had a recent surgery by another doctor. Even if they see you, they may still be reluctant to interfere, ie deflate to some point or prescribe a medication.
2. Your surgeon may have concerns if the implant is touched by some other doctor.
3. Insurance may not cover your visit to the new doctor.

However, I would suggest to call your surgeon, stating that you are not deflated as supposed to be. Having a stiff penis at 3pm means you are inflated to almost100%. You may also inform that, if an appointment is not available, you are going to see another doctor. You are simply unable to return to normal life for a whole month, which is not right.
