Decided on the Titan

Went the Uro yesterday for a follow up on the Trimix injections.I have taken sixteen injections and nothing good enough for penetration.I have used up to 50 units,Sat. I used 40 units just for therapy and noticed a bad curve downward, this was the hardest erection so far.
He said lets do the implant right away.He has only done about 40 implants and that worries me a little. He said he does three or four a year and has had good results.
What do my BBB think ?

Sounds like a good idea. I was a little uncomfortable that my doc does only 1 per month, but he did a great job. My prostatectomy surgeon said that "it's not rocket science". I can vouch that the implant can restore your erections very effectively, but it is important that you feel comfortable with your surgeon.

MrSmoker,

I underwent the Titan Penile Implant Procedure 4 1/2 years ago and, thankfully, it completely corrected my ED which
developed Post-Prostatectomy. My wife and I both love my Titan.
Wishing you a speedy recovery and a lifetime of enjoyment with your new Titan Implant.
Two Suggestions
1- Be patient as the tissue in your body grows around the Titan Implant during the post-op healing period.
2- Follow your URO's instructions.

I am now a Patient Educator for Coloplast and have counseled many ED patients who have opted for the Titan Implant.
Again, wishing you all the best.

Regards,

Bob

Thanks Jeff,
I watched a couple of implant surgery videos yesterday.I had started to watch before and couldn't.Now that I'm going ahead with the surgery I didn't have any problem watching.I agree "it's not rocket science" these surgeons were amazing.I wouldn't want to be one of the first say dozen implants, but I think after that it would be ok.The Doc. said he could get me in within a couple of weeks, but I'll have make sure I can be laid up for six weeks.

MrSmoker --

Two suggestions. First, take the time to read thru the archives here and on the Yahoo penile implant group seeking out different experiences. There is a wide range of results. Some, due to unique factors, but others due to surgeon skill and experience. Just because a surgeon does a lot doesn't make him good. But its hard to become good at anything without a lot of experience. I decided surgeon skill and experience was critical to improving the odds of a good outcome.

Second, if you have any concerns at all about your surgeon, visit and interview more than one. Ideally at least one with lots of implant experience and top notch reputation. Then see how you feel afterward. I interviewed more than one, and it made a big difference to my final selection of surgeon. I know others who interviewed multiple surgeons too.

Implant completed 9/10,came home 9/11 10am. I'm feeling better than expected, minimal swelling and pain. The Dr left it partially inflated the first day and deflated before I came home and that hurt like hell. Thanks to FT I was well informed.
