I am remiss in commenting on this board. I only logon occasionally, but I did want to offer my experience now that it has been one year since my surgery. I had the AMS700 and I have been extremely pleased with the results.
I started having ED issues in my 50s, after several bouts with Kidney stones that required surgical removal through the Urethra. I developed some scarring and Peronie's disease. The meds did not work and I used trimex injections for about 15 years, until they doses got larger and larger and 2 years ago they stopped working altogether. I was getting about 50% erection from them and it did not last. Because of COVID I had to wait 7 months for the surgery which was done last August. I had been a subject in the Peyronie's disease inject trials which worked well for a few years, but it did not last. As part of my surgery the doctor also removed some of the scar tissue responsible for the curvature. The surgery was done out-patient, and when I went for the follow-up 2 days later, even the doctor was surprised by how swollen and black and blue I was. The small 4X8 inch freezer packs were best friends for the first week. I even slept with them in my underwear.
I did not start inflating/deflating for a few weeks and had some trouble at first. By week 10 I got the hang of it and was able to start having sex again, and it has been smooth sailing ever since.
I was always more of a grower than a shower, and not more than 6 1/2-7 erect in my youth. The implant makes me more of a shower now, and I am back to 6 1/2 at this point. My wife has been very pleased, she claims I feel more natural now than I did when I was using the trimex. Until COVID I traveled a lot, in the 3rd world and keeping the trimex refrigerated was often a problem. I used a well insulated travel mug and was always begging for ice. No more thermos, no more needles, just a tube of lube and I am ready to go.
My whole experience has been great. I use Smith Institute at Northwell on Long Island, and the doctor and staff could not be nicer or more helpful. If anyone was concerns I would be glad to talk off-line with them.
