First Cycle, Pain

Postby aslanglobal » Tue Aug 31, 2021 6:26 pm

Hey guys,
So I’m 3 weeks post op and today I was allowed to cycle w bit in the office. Took me forever to figure out the pump, but finally pumped it maybe 25% for a few minutes until pain was a bit much. Pain has continued off and on for the past few hours. Is this relatively normal? NP said I have “severe scar tissue”, so I needed to follow recommendations to a t to break it all up. It seems I will be icing my junk for more weeks yet.

Any thoughts or parallel experiences?

I very much appreciate all of y’all’s help. Some of you have played a crucial role in my recovery process.

I just started cycling as well First time was quite a process for me to get the pump working but I finally did and yes there is pain. My doctor said to expect this and the nurse even said that most guys are not able to keep it fully pumped for the recommended 15-20 minutes. So they told me if it hurts too much try keeping it for 10 or even 5 minutes and work your way up. Bottom line, yes this is normal and to be expected. I was told probably for about another two weeks until the cylinders get broken in. I was also told to sit in a hot bath and take some Tylenol 30 minutes prior. Hope this helps.

Hey guys, no pain no gain. Lol,, go slow at first put your body on "notice" that we are going to get back what we had.
Watch the Dr Clavell vid on cycling. the best I have seen and was informative to me. I go one hour every 12 hours. It starts feeling like a job Lol.
It gets better.

How much inflation immediately post-op did you have? More inflation usually means more pain in the first few days but less pain in the following weeks.

Scar tissue adhesion to nerves (as I understand it) can be painful. Unlucky patients have this. The earlier you break up the scar tissue, the less long-term pain. Use ice, heat, anti-inflammatories, whatever you need to get through this. You will come out on the other side much happier.

I've got an added complication- silicone fillers from years past. Dumb decision, I'm lucky I'm not dead from it and I can't cry over spilt milk. My doc wasn't deterred from it (he was clear I was a bigger risk), and managed to put the whole thing from above with a tiny incision. I saw him today and he frankly said that I would take longer to heal due to this, but he was happy from what he saw today- no signs of infection, wound has completely healed over etc. And yes, ice, anti-inflammatory medication, hot baths and cycling through the pain the first few weeks etc. I was told if I didn't cycle enough the next month, I could have too much girth and not great length- so that lights a fire under my ass. Point being- God willing I'm going to heal without infection and be usable within a few months. It's just a slightly longer road with me. Thanks for your continual great posts, Lost Sheep and everyone else who has written comments.

I was pumped to 80-90% for first 4 weeks. Still have pain if pumped hard 3 years later. Some folks have stronger hands. Maybe I am pumping harder than most. Anyway, I enjoy intercourse at 90%.

I have discomfort when pumped up past 95% (but my girlfriend likes it at 100%, so I accommodate her). It takes about 90 minutes before discomfort prompts me to deflate. I am almost 4 years post-op and this has been the steady-state case for over 3 years.

I was hoping this was going to go away. My wife likes it at max. So she gets a choice at this point. Max quickie or 90% marathon. Best part? There is actually a choice! :)

I’ve only pumped once more in week 3 post op. Shooting pains for hours and couldn’t find the release valve again. Hopefully week 4 goes better. Doc has me on a decent amount of pain meds, but here we are.
