Implant cylinder came out of corpora cavernosa

Has anyone had or heard of the cylinder herniating out of the corpora cavernosa post implant???
I am not sure if the corpora cavernosa has torn or what… I thought permanent stitches were used to close the location where the cylinder was implanted. Not sure if it’s torn through in different location or what.
Thanks in advance of any help.

How long post-op are you? What kind of incision? Where exactly did the cylinder herniate? Could you feel something coming on slowly or was it very sudden?

Get to a doctor, that sounds very serious.
I have not heard of this occurring.
Good luck to you.

There's another member here that It's happened to. Get to your surgeon. It will have to be replaced or repaired. You doctor will have to make that determination

A lot of different ways this can happen. There can be a perforation and a cross over or just one cylinder that that is out with a proximal (Crus) perforation. And the incision (corporotomy) can also be torn open. Much different repairs for each and they is most likely some others I have not listed.

I had a proximal perforation that was confirmed by imagery and repaired with a sling. The one cylinder that was out of my Crus was removed and a suture sling was made through the RTE end of the cylinder secured. I could feel the difference and the doctor that did the repair could also. It was a teaching hospital and he had a number of students and residents come in and feel the difference in the proximal cylinders so they would know what it was.

You can do some research on the web and find some information. Look for penile implant Proximal and Distal perforation.

Just happened to me after my revision at MUSC in Charleston. Left cylinder buckled out. They opened back up, flushed with antibiotics and sewed back up with permanent sutures. Doctor said he had never had it happened before. Two weeks ago the right side did the same thing. I could tell the Doctor was trying to brush me off. Asked if I was a chronic smoker, which I am not. I'm headed to Atlanta to See Dr Hakky, probably where I should have went to start with.

From what I read on another members post(s) was also with a revision due to infection and an attempt to do a salvage. This is where the first infected implant was removed and another implant put in. This was a short time after the first surgery and it seemed the scar tissue from the first surgery did not hold the sutures in the second. This is why most of the time doctors have you wait at least 6 months for a reoperation.

Yes it happened to me. I had the pump fail and had a full revision and within a month and a half I had the left cylinder come out into my scrotum. Not sure what the cause was but I ended up with a massive infection a couple months after he put it back in.
