Need for implant improvement

I wonder why, over the years the implants available have not gotten any better.
Here are short comings that need to be resolved:
1. The cylinder material is too stiff and bulky. I'm thinking thinner, and more flexible material would allow the erect penis to be less oval and more cylindrical as before implant. Also with less bulk, the limp penis would not have the unusual (and uncomfortable) feeling of a folded and flat collapsed cylinder inside. I find it more difficult to get it out through the fly opening to urinate and then get it back in, because of the loss in flexibility. I realize that the material used should have a long a life and maybe that is the trade-off.
2. The valve is too difficult to put into the inflate mode when the cylinders are completely deflated. Or maybe my valve is defective.
