I’m going in on Tuesday and scared to death. I’m generally excited and I have complete faith in my doctor but I’m fearful that I’m going to screw up the post opp instructions. It sounds complicated. Maybe I’m overthinking it. Even the catheter sounds complex with the syringe and bag.

Something I do every time I have an important medical consultation, I use the voice note app to record it. Ask for clear instructions and if you have a significant other, ask them to pay attention too. I’m sure you’ll be able to ask for help and advice when you’re at home too. You’ll be fine!

Relax--take a deep breath. Take is all one step at a time, ask questions to ensure you understand what is expected, and realize it will be at least a week or two before you feel normal again. Don't push it. Heal.

My only other experiences with "surgery " prior to getting my implant were getting my wisdom teeth out at 19 and my first colonoscopy a couple months before my implant surgery.

I was able to follow my doctor's instructions and didn't have any problems beyond the typical challenges guys have talked about having here.

I was confused by that part of your post.

I stayed in the hospital overnight after my surgery. A nurse removed my catheter the next morning. Being able to urinate on my own was a requirement before I was able to go home. So, I never had to manage a catheter.

My implant surgery was out patient. I was sent home about 70% inflated, with the catheter still in. I was dreading taking it out the next day. As it turns out, it was easy. There was absolutely no pain. Post op protocol is really not that complicated, and my instructions were clearly spelled out in the paperwork I was sent home with. You got this and I am sure, will be glad you did it when you start having amazing sex!

Cool thx for the info, but there’s no syringe involved? You just pull it out?
