Anyone have doc's advice on how often to inflate a few years after surgery?

I've had my implant over 3 years now, and I am still very happy I got it. During the first year with my AMS LGX, my doctor told me to inflate it four times a day for a half hour each time. He said that was the best course to get size back. I did that most days for the first six months, and then tailed off a little. Now, I inflate a few times a week. I don't know if there is a medical reason to inflate more often or if it would be best to inflate less often to keep from wearing out the parts.

I've read that healthy men get around 7 erections a day, mostly at night, and before the implant was told that having multiple erections each day would help keep things healthy - use it or lose it. Since I already "lost" it and got the implant, I don't know often I need to get it up now.

Separately, is there a best course for ejaculation frequency? Sex isn't as frequent as it used to be, so some of my activity is solo.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Quincy.

I don't have any info one way or the other about frequency of inflating. However, I recently read this article which addresses frequency of ejaculation:

Just sayin'

When it turned out I wouldn't be using my Titan (see my signature), Dr Kramer advised me to inflate it "now and then to keep things stretched and healthy.." I inflated occasionally maybe every three or four months until it quit working after 12 years. At that point Dr Kramer advised me that I could have it repaired or replaced, or that I could just forget about it. I chose the latter.

Quincy...my non-medically based response is based upon my 'signature'. As you might see on TV watching a show, "THREE YEARS AGO", I went to my surgeon's for the 6-week 'training' session. The PA (never saw the POS surgeon) showed me how to inflate and deflate...never offered a cycling schedule...ever. Nothing from Virginia Urology...ever. So, I took it upon myself to cycle on my own schedule. I inflated once daily during my evening shower and left it 'up' through my TV time (about 2 hours) and then deflated before retiring. That lasted about a month. During the next 2 years and 11 months, I cycle as desired or in prep for sex (the latter occasions number about 5 so my 'desired' time is much more frequent). Sorry I can't be more clinical in my response but it's primarily because I have no trust in any medical advice anymore.

I also had no guidance from my implant doc. I inflate every morning before my wife wakes up and she usually decides to use it. She doesn't last long, but it is nice.

I sometimes put a couple pumps in during the day to straighten the kink that I don't like.

As of about 6 months of implant I went from twice a day to once a day. Instead of 30 mins, I am doing 45-60 mins. I may inflate more than once a day, but I don't miss a single day of inflating.
