Waiting for my revision surgery

Hello,
I thought I would share my recent experience following the failure of my AMS 700LGX 2 weeks ago. My background is a radical prostatectomy in 2011, nerve sparing on one side only. 10 years on I am cancer free so the RP was successful.
Erectile function did not return after the RP and viagra and cialis had no effect. I tried Caveject at 2.5mg but I needed a higher dose. I tried 5 mg but the pain was terrible with erections lasting 3 hours. I then tried trimix worked well but within 3 months I had developed PD and a 30 degree bend in my penis. No more trimix so then back to Caveject (alprosadi) and I found that by using a seperate syringe and injecting 3.5 mg I could get a good erection for an hour with some tolerable pain. After 3 years of this I decided on an implant and had the AMS LGX. It was a good outcome with an excellent surgeon in Sydney.
However here I am now waiting for the revision later in November and missing my old friend who was always available on demand. I should mention that at times over the years I would wake at night and find I had an erection. Not as good as before the RP but serviceable enough if it would last, but of course it would not. I concluded that the spared nerves on one side must have come back to life at some stage. Given that it was now some weeks before my new surgery and then 4-6 weeks before really road testing the new device, I decided to try some cialis that I had from 2011. Using 20 mg cialis resulted in zero engorgement. I then tried 100mg of viagra and was pleasantly surprised by the result. With good stimulation I achieved an erection good enough for penetration not rock hard but OK, at 125mg it was even better.

I don't understand how it is possible to have even a viagra facilitated erection after the damage done to the inside of the corpora when the implant is fitted. Any ideas?
I will now explore the viagra result up to a dose of 200mg. I will also try viagra again with the new implant to test out if I can get engorgement of my glans which never happened with just inflation of the implant, no matter how aroused I was. I am hoping the revision will go well and I hope the new device will last at least as long the 7 years I have had with this one.

Hey bro,
No clue about why you are getting erections without pumping, but I suggest you consider having an AMS 700CX or a Titan instead of a LGX, as the latter is more fragile and may last less time wrt CX or Titan.
Btw may I ask you how many times a week have you used your nuclear weapon? Thanks

Hi Confused95,
I used the implant about 2-3 times a week over the 7 years that it was working. Thats about 7000 times maximum, but I think the failure has occurred not from pumping up but friction in the area it creases (dog ears)when un-inflated. I felt the stinging of the saline solution at the lower lefthand side of my penis when the leak happened while pumping. The LGX cylinders are made of several layers of material and this creases on both sides just above where the pump tubes enter the cylinders when my penis is flaccid. I was doing daily jogging for exercise in the first few years of the implant and I think that this may have caused more wear as movement is likely to cause rubbing between the material layers in the folded areas.Based on the AMS statistics 70% last 7 years or more so I am just 1 in 3 that did not get more than 7 years. I read that the failure rates for AMS and Coloplast are much the same so I think I will go with the LGX again.

My surgeon who is very experienced moves your erection material to one side. He does not destroy anything when installing the implant. He says having natural erections with also the implant is like winning the trifecta. That is great for us guys who had a RP. My Rp surgeon said he took all my nerves but after 3 1/2 years my glans is coming back to life a little bit.

Sorry how is that 7000 times? 3 times a week is around 150 times a year, and 7*150=1050

Hi martinh, I am just starting my research on a good surgeon in Sydney for my implant surgery.
Do you mind sharing who your surgeon was?
Thanks in advance.
