Implants revisions - few questions

Hello, I have a few questions about implants revisions, hopefully anyone who went through at least one can answer them:
1. How is the recovery process going compare with the first implant? Is it easier / faster / less painful or is it similar to the first one?
2. How is it with the cost? You have to pay for an implant for the first time, do you also have to pay full price after each revision?
3. Do you need to have whole implant replaced? How common it is that only some parts of it are sufficient to get replaced and how does that affect cost and recovery time?

1: It is generally reported as being easier.
2: That depends upon what is replaced. See #3. What country you live in. Your insurance status. Even what region of the USA that you live in.
3: Revision can go from just one part to a complete change. The surgeon & hospital costs are generally the biggest costs. Too many variables are involved to even give a reasonable guess on costs.

1.My revisions were much less painful and healed much faster (my initial surgeon was an inept liar).
2. Each is a new surgery with all new charges. I don't think you are charged for the device itself.
3. Mine have been "total replacements". I seem to remember having read of someone who had a "partial replacement" but....my memory is shorter than my.... dick.
My only regret was my poor choice of my initial implant surgeon.
Good luck man!

A post, generally by the original poster. It moves a thread to the top hoping it will get an answer.

Thanks for the thanks.
Personally I don't support the practice. I've never done it.

Well I recently had a revision due to getting an infection a few months later after the first time.
1. It's NOT as bad as the first time. The first time was quite rough for me.
2. I didn't have to drop a dime for the second op.
3. Yes he replaced the entire device with a new one and so far so good.
