How bad did it get with injections before you moved to implant?

I’ve of course heard the stories about people wishing they had gotten implanted sooner. But I’m curious: Did you get implanted because you reached a point where it would have been physically impossible to continue using injections for intercourse?
If the injections became ineffective, did they do nothing at all or did they just make you plump rather than hard, such that you could theoretically have continued with injections and constriction rings?
And if you had scarring, how exactly did the deformation look? How many degrees bend? Pictures welcome. And those who had loss of size, how much did you shrink, including girth?
Also how long and how frequently did you inject before and after these issues showed up?

Been injecting for 14 months now and started at 5units of a regular tri-mix. Am now using 24 and last nite the effects wore off by 30 minutes…. Way sooner than I wanted… guess it’s time to go up some more. My Uro told me that my leak must be getting worse pretty rapidly. There’s a lot more stronger mix out there but at this point I’m getting sick and tired of sticking a needle in it. I inject usually 2 times a week and occasionally 3 times. Really injections are very inconvenient if your on vacation and want to have sex two days in a row or even twice in one day….also always concerned about timing.. been married for 36 years and hate that I have to be sure everything is lined up and ready with the wife before injecting. Kills the moment.also I’ve noticed two tiny bb feeling bumps right in the area that I inject, and occasionally when I’m inserting the needle it’s hard to push in and feels like the needle is going thru a piece of sandpaper, almost a grating feeling as the needle breaks thru the tunica.after checking with urologist he told me that it was scar tissue. So far no curvature or other unwanted issues just don’t want it to start being an issue. Done with injections! Already started the process of finding Dr and getting approved for implant. Hopefully it can get done within a few months, hopefully before summer gets started. Will be posting my journey as soon as I get a pre op appointment and get a date for the implant! Way past ready to do this thing!!

I injected for maybe four years. Early on, it was amazing. But over time it took ever increasing strengths and dosages. At each strength level, I could get an adequate erection, and after a while just get a chubby. At the end, I was using 70 units of 100/6/30 and it wasn't really working. The ache in my dick following injections of increasing dosages was lasting a good thirty-six hours each time. My veinous leak was getting worse very fast, and the Trimix finally couldn't over-come it.

I tried injections for about 6 months - different mixes, different doses - but none of them worked for me, not even a little bit.

Tri mix gave me extreme pain. Bi mix did nothing. Mixed 5 units of old trimix with 25 units of the bimix and could stand the pain.My tunica is so hard that the tip of the 30 ga needle would bend and not penetrate with an auto injector. I had to plug in to the tunica and then jab again to get in to the right spot. In under 40 injections, I got a 20 degree bend to the left at midship. that is when I went to the implant. All my nerves were removed during a RP for PC, SO my dick does not have blood flow and glans engorgement. trimix made everything hard and fat. I am now using trimix Gell into my urethra to get glans engorgement.

After 21/2 yrs I developed enough curvature that my doctor said it was time for an implant!

Skipped injections and went to implant. Because it's frustrating needing to "plan" sex, forced to take pills or inject something at a certain time, rather than being ready when the moment arises.

Pretty much the same story as SteveSW only faster tolerance buildup -- only about once a week and after about 10 mos and I'm at a 300 PGE explosive level! And there is some sort of lumpy area a urologist called plaque. Add to that a minor amount of downward peyronies.
Maybe some guys need to go through the injection saga -- so promising and so great at first -- man!!! And some guys can get effectiveness from it for years. I think my venous leakage has quickly worsened.
Getting an implant as soon as my schedule allows.

I had never considered injections, My Dr injected me on our first meeting. said at my age maybe (66 then) I might skip 2 years of injections and possibility's of scaring. He said I would have an excellent outcome with implant after I plumped up a bit. I lessened and do not regret it.

I had 3 years of injections before going for the implant. Initial use of alprostadil (prostaglandin E1) resulted in severe pain and prolonged erections. I switched to Trimix which worked well and no pain but resulted in PD in 3 months of use. It gave my penis an upward bend of about 30 degrees. I returned to alprostadil injections but it was always with pain. I eventually worked out a very precise dose to minimise pain but give me a working erection for 30 min to an hour. When I think back on it, it was a horrible time but better than no erections at all. The implant straightened my penis and eventually I got my length back ( 6") but lost ½" of girth due to scarring from the injections. For me, I needed to try the injections as I had one side nerve sparing, but in hindsight 12 months would have been enough. I had hoped that the nerves left on one side may heal and allow natural erections to return. Turned out to be wishful thinking although those nerves did come right over 4-5 years and I get a good level of engorgement of my glans and an almost workable erection without pumping with 100mgm of sildenafil. With 100mgm and pumping I get a good natural looking erection.
