Revision switching to Titan

Postby Hrc714 » Sat Feb 19, 2022 7:19 am

My AMS 700 has failed with the fluid leak between the pump and the reservoir. It only loses fluid when the fluid is in the reservoir. The longer I stay deflated, the less I am able to inflate. When the issue reached 70% max inflation, I opted to stay inflated to preserve length while waiting for revision surgery. I thought this might be an issue but so far after 2 months it has been ok. I was approved for revision by insurance and surgeon is planning replacement with a Titan as it is best matched to my anatomy. As the AMS is only 3 years old, the device is covered under warranty but the Titan will be a charge. Insurance did not specify that level of detail in acceptance of surgery request. Anyone else switch brands on revision?

I had 2 failures with AMS 700! Each one had a pump failure within 18 months. So I am looking to switch too.
Strangely enough, the replacement surgery was delayed because of an FDA recall for failing pumps.
