Concerned to still be experiencing pain at this stage. Am I alone?

It's been over a year since my surgery. The implant continues to function perfectly and I am at or maybe even exceeding my pre-op size. So I'm thankful for that.

The problem is that I am still experiencing significant pain when inflated.

At 18 pumps, which is what I would consider the bare minimum for sex (far from ideal), I can last 90 minutes before it gets too much.

At 30 pumps, which is the max I have sex with, I start to feel it in five minutes, and after 30 or so, REALLY want to deflate. This sucks, cause this is the level that gives me the biggest and hardest erection.

I've also noticed that after orgasm, I get hit with a wave of pain. During the build-up, it's noticeably less.

Does this jive with your experience? I feel like a lot of men are pain free at this point. It's frustrating because one of the few good things about the implant is the idea that you can have sex "as long as you want." That's not true for me because there is no usable level of inflation that doesn't eventually become very uncomfortable or downright painful.

I recognize that sex (or at least the P in the V variety) doesn't have to last as long as the durations I've mentioned to be good. But the constant worry of when things are going to start hurting is a drag.

I am starting to get concerned that the model I have may just be too much for my anatomy. I've been very diligent with cycling and continue to try to push it in the hope that the pain will eventually lessen. I don't seem to be making any progress though and wonder if trying to tough it out is wise.

Any info or suggestions would be much appreciated!

With my first implant I had pain at full pump for a while but put up with it because I knew it has to happen to expand the cylinders to get back to original size. I would pump it up (40 to 50 squeezes) and take a couple ibuprofen and go to sleep. After 4 or 5 hours I would deflate. After a month of this pain went away unless I stayed pumped 50 pumps for more than 5 or 6 hours. For me, if I deflated the unit the pain quickly left. After 10 or 15 minutes I could start the process over again...

Hope this helps. The only way to increase size is some discomfort.

at a year out form surgery you shouldn't be feeling pain. Sounds like the implant might be a bit long and is still stretching your penis. You said you had exceeded your pre surgery size. A VED would probably help stretch your out but you have to be careful of erosion. Like another member suggested. Talk with your surgeon. He should have the answer for you

As others have suggested, speaking with your surgeon is an excellent idea. Did you have much loss of size from ED pre-IPP? I'm wondering if you are still regaining lost size?

Thanks for the replies.

I am contact with my surgeon and will definitely discuss this with him.

This thread is really about your experiences and what that can teach me.

I did not have any significant size loss due to ED. I also used a VED consistently for the three months prior to my surgery. I do think that helped me be able to regain my pre-op size rather easily.

At this point, I guess my concern is that I am running up against the limits of my tunica. I think it's possible other men with the same or similar model to me can get way more pumps because their corpora are just larger--they probably had more girth than me to begin with.

As always, time will tell.

Something similar was with my virgin implant. Pain while inflating, pain while having sex, pain while driving etc.
My problem was incidentally discovered by radiologist who was reading my pelvis xray. He mentioned it as possible cross over and recommended CT or MRI for further investigation.
My suggestion is: It would be wort checking it.
