Long time reader on FT. Appreciate all the men who have posted and shared over the years. It has really helped me prepare for this step.
I was implanted 5/12/22 by Dr. Michael Pryor in Spartanburg, South Carolina. We chose the AMS product line due to my long standing diabetes with the goal of reducing infection risk. Ended up implanting an AMS CX 18cm with 1.5cm RTEs, penoscrotal approach. He's left me about 60% inflated for time being, follow up appointment on 5/23 and we'll see where things go from there! I had significant PD...75 degree curvature (dorsal?) going up and to my left. The wife and I could still kinda manage penetrative intercourse with basic TriMix injections, but it was unsatisfactory and extremely limited...not getting any better. Dr. Pryor said he encountered considerable scarring and plaque fibrosis due to the PD (began appearing around 2018) and he felt that the CX model would give me the best outcome possible to reduce the curvature and have a fully functional erection again. At the moment postop day 2, the curvature is down to about 10% and I always had a natural upward and to the left curve so I'm going to be pleased if this remains so. Who knows, as I begin cycling there may be further improvements there, but if not, it is still a huge improvement over what I had been facing without going with the implant.
By the time of my surgery I had been suffering from worsening ED since approximately 2010. I began trying Viagra in 2010...tried all the other oral agents at one point or another with diminishing returns. Graduated to VED and TriMix around 2013. Had diabetes related low T (level of 290 in 2013) and began TRT (t. cypionate injections and weekly anastrozole pill) about the same time, felt great, but the increased strength, mood, and libido only made the ED even more aggravating, ha! I suppose the wife and I learned to live with a kinda shitty sex life for a while there in our 30s, work, child rearing, etc., filled in the gaps. I guess all the covid mess and such the last 2 years put front and center for my wife and I that life is for living to the fullest and we decided not to put off enjoying all the good things that life offers and that got me thinking about finding as close to a "real" solution for my ED and PD that I could. It also didn't hurt any that my wife began HRT about 18 months ago as well, and oh my gentleman, WOW!! Her mood, body composition, and sex drive have been off the charts!! I can't lie, when she can just keep going and going and going, basically insatiable...it's pretty addictive in the best way possible! Best of all, both of our kids were C-sections, so she's as tight and horny at 44 as she was at 17, haha!!
Recovery is going about as expected at this point, like I mentioned it is only POD2. Taking it a day at a time, I know this is a process, but really looking forward to having a usable cock again to match the passion and desire that my wife and I have for each other.
Thanks again to all the other "brothers" who have asked, answered, and shared here over the years!
