Penis and sex drive feel dead

A question that I haven’t seen on Frank talk… I’m two weeks post surgery only… The pain has gone from excruciating to very tolerable now but nonetheless painful which I know should get better over the next 1 to 2 weeks…I am tired of the pain. I had scrotoplasty as well so that is why there is additional pain besides the implant… Tonight as I’m lying in bed on my back which I am not a back sleeper I stare at my erect penis and it feels dead… I don’t have a sex drive Or desire and honestly tired of looking at a dead penis that all it does is hurt and four more weeks to go…Before deflation. I wonder if anyone felt this way in the beginning. It seems most are very excited at the opportunity of being erect and able to have penetrative sex again. I’m with my spouse 36 years and though we enjoyed a normal amount of sex for this degree of a relationship I wonder if I will have the desire again or if I always will feel like I have a dead penis. Perhaps this is Buyers remorse and tired of this feeling so far…I’m just hoping I won’t always have pain from the tubes, the reservoir, the pump and the cylinders forever and that I haven’t wrecked my life by doing this and that eventually all the pain will go away –
I had PD and ED for only two years so I was still kind of functional with meds but with VL also went away so I was not without sex for years and years as some. The ability to sustain an erection then when away and I moved quickly with the decision to have an implant..
Anyone else with these feelings?

Can't the doctor give you more pain killers?

It’s not really the pain now… It is sore and a tolerable pain as long as it heals… It’s all the other feelings I was writing about!

Lying on my back with my penis pointed to the ceiling was discouraging for a while and being inflated continuously did result in some of the "erectile enthusiasm" diminishing. But that went away after deflating and returning to a normal balance of time spent erect and flaccid. Be encouraged. "This too, shall pass."

Is your Testosterone in a normal range?
You sound like I felt when I tried weaning myself off T.

Can you still feel everything down there? I mean glans, shaft etc..? Well if you can then you just have to give it time to heal. Don't force it and expect everything to come back instantly. Be gentle with the healing process. There has been a lot of trauma to a very sensitive area. It may take a year or more but when it heals then all you need is blood flow to get better. Healing down there is not an easy process at all. After my prostate procedure , I'm still healing at 3 years but it is getting better. Main thing that i think helped me was to stay active with exercise. Nothing too extreme but just being consistent with it....like swimming, good walks, light weight lifting etc. Bloodflow and good health will make the healing process happen faster.
I'm not saying your healing will take 3 years , it may just take some weeks or months but just hang in there.

You got to give it time. The first 2 months I didn't even want to think about sex as much as my libido has always been 10/10. Nerves in your penis have been moved, jammed and jumbled around so it takes time for them to heal, and nerves are the slowest thing in the human body to heal.
By the time you're 6-8 months out things will feel normal again, and your boys will make friends with the new parts.

Stay positive sir. Everyone has their own timeline to heal. so its just a matter of time. Have positive reinforcement that you will get completely fine and healed and get your mojo back. Since the pain is more tolerable move is a good progress and you will feel better each day. I am fighting my own demon right now ( nothing bad as compared to you) but still having issues. But we all know these things take time.. I really wish we time travel and go to a future when we start using it ( I am imagining waking up one day with my wife riding on top of me and I feel whats going on

I would suggest that your mind is reverting back to how your body reacted your whole life. Meaning if you got aroused, you got an erection. Now, it is easy to have an erection without arousal.
Quit looking at your inflated dick & thinking you should be aroused. Those 2 functions are no longer connected. The important thing is now, if you're aroused? You can easily & promptly get an erection. Totally different timeline to before the ED & the implant.
