Sitting down hurts

Postby iwantanewone » Sun Jun 19, 2022 1:07 am

Hi guys…

My implant will be 5 weeks old Tuesday. I’m still inflated 60% until next Friday. My problem is trying to sit down. If I’m on the sofa or bed I’m fine in a reclining position. Meaning I’m on my tailbone and back and the balls aren’t touching anything. If I try to sit in a chair in the dining room or any chair… forget it. It feels like I’m sitting on the hard AMS700 CX pump that is pushing on my balls and then my weight is on top of all of it. 160 pounds.. I absolutely can’t do it. I don’t know how people have gone back to work. How will this end up? It is so uncomfortable.
Any ideas or suggestions? Does everyone feel this? Will I have to have everything removed?

Thanks for any replies!!

Lots of ice. When I got mine I would try to sit on the edge of the chair first, then slide back. Also, try spreading you legs more open. Another thing, wear underwear that will lift you ball up and out some. May, May not work for you

I didn't have a scrotal revision (reduction of the scrotum size) at the time of my surgery. The pump makes a very snug addition. Two things. Support is the important aspect. Pain on the other hand continued for me until everything settled in. I used a lidocaine cream; "Ebanel, Numb25." You use it sparingly but it is the only lidocaine compound I could find that works (20 minutes). Do NOT use a biofreeze for something with menthol. It will put you in orbit. Ice can be apply but it's Clunky. Support is everything. Find a pair of underwear that pulls scrotum up without irritation. Here's a trick. Find the right underwear. Then girlfriend/wife feminine pad. Trim the pad for your size from the mid-perineum (area between the anus the scrotum) and up to and covering the scrotum. You take that pad (I usually had 3 I could alternate). You wet it down, up it in a ziplock bag in the freezer. Once frozen, bring it out, shape it alittle so it won't be so stiff, and then insert that on you with the underwear you found for support. I know it sounds bizarre but you will do a lot to relieve that pain. That's what I found worked for short cart trips and general therapy.

Thank you Evan… how long ago did you have surgery? Do you think this is a new way of life forever? I hope not…it would not be a fun way to live forever.. a difficult way of life.
I’m hoping it all calms down in a few months.. Will try your suggestions!

Yes, after my surgery on Nov 8 I didn't sit in a hard chair until Christmas, and that was only for the meal. It took me a good 4-5 months to tolerate hard chairs, and even now if things are in the wrong position I have to adjust to be comfortable.

I assume you have a low positioned pump. my first one was very high. bad news. i had it moved low and now it is very easy to sit on. ouch. but given the choice i'd take low every time. eventually you'll figure out how to sit. good luck till then

I was implanted may 18th so now at 4 weeks 5 days. Everybody heals differently and every Dr Is different. I was deflated at 1 week and started pumping at 2 weeks. My pump hangs very low center right between the boys and the first 3 weeks it was same as you. Somewhere after the 3 week mark it just started getting better… guess it toughened up or something. Now it still pinches sometimes when I set on a hard chair… I usually look for a softer one. Noticed this morning when getting in my car that has very firm leather seats and used to hurt to set in….I plopped in and thought for a split second I had messed up….. nope just felt a little pressure and drove an hour and no problem. It will get better and probably sooner than later. Hang in there time heals a lot of issues. I also agree with previous post… better low and easier to get to when you pump than buried deep in sack. Good luck and patience is the name of the game. After your next Dr visit and you start cycling there will be a dozen other things that bring questions. Lol
