I did not realize it was that expensive. Vanderbilt charged my insurance policy 52,399.00 for implant. I did have peyroines and they did do modeling and everything is pretty awesome. I even have natural erections to my glands already but I thought it was around 20 or 30 thousand.

So it seems United Healthcare bargained with Vanderbilt from 52k to 24k with my 250 copay. How does this happen? What is the point of billing double the going costs? You cannot do that in most businesses. Regardless Vanderbilt/Milam rocks for implants.

This is all part of the elaborate dance that began when government, insurance companies, lawyers, and accountants go involved with paying for healthcare. The healthcare provider has to have a base rate tho negotiate from, that is a rate that is initially changred to unaffilliated, uninsured patients. From their discounter rates are negotiated. This is often fixed amounts no matter what and fixed precentages of the uninsured rate. I have watched the price of medicine climb over the years as the insurance companies/governement became more and more involved in the direct payment of healthcare claims.
I will leave thiw now as it is not a fit topic for civilized dicussion nor for this group. With all the extra parties in giving the bill a pump, it is no wonder that they are inflated even after the doctor accepts the discounts.
