They changed if I am honest nothing because they dont have to, Coloplast and Boston Scientific own the market, they have nearly the same product and arent interested in changing anything.
An implant last from months to max. 15years and the more it breaks the more they earn money. For example, lets say an implant cost s around 8000$...... If it would last 30years the company earn 8000$ minus the cost s for producing. they make a profit around 7500$ per implant. These are fictitious numbers but I think this will be very near to the real numbers.
So 7500$ earned for a reliable implant....
Compared to an implant which last on average 7years.... some 2 years some 12years but averge 7years. From what I read here is it a real realistic number (and maybe too high).
after 30years with 7years durability the same company doesnt earn 7500$ they earn more than 30.000$. If you have a company, will you rather earn from 1 patient 7500$ or 30.000$. It s called business.
Thats the reason why nothing changed or will change except another manufactor will come and has the intention to earn just 7.500 preferred to 30.000$ from one patient just to help him. And now multiply 30.000$ x all the implant patients world wide
. 30years is also a fictitious number but it s just to give a look into it.
If these companies will take lets say 25% of their profit and will invest in research how to make it better than there will be much better implants available!!!! But why should they invest in researching when the result is a lower profit
No one can say to me that there will be now in 2022 nothing better available than what the implants now are
For sure there will be materials available which feels more natural in the flaccid state. Also to produce it so that they last longer and have a more anatomical look. more like a banana cause the penis doesnt look straight like an arrow it looks bent upwards like a banana.
Thats just my opinion but I think with very much truth inside!
