Airport Implant Experience

Flew round trip St Louis to DC over the holiday weekend. TSA in St Louis is VERY thorough! I set off the scanner and was asked to step aside for additional screening. Sort of expected it. Very nice male (hot) agent said, "we have detected anomalies in your groin area and need to inspect physically, are you OK with this?" I said sure unless you want me to drop my pants right here. He was not amused and offered a private room. Nope, thanks I'm fine. I told him my implant set off the alarm and he wanted to know what implant. I told him I had a penile implant. He then wanted to know what for. I I told him it was an inflatable penile implant allowing me to have erections and sex. He said OK and proceeded to run his hands over pretty much my entire body and spent a great deal of time feeling my crotch (dick) with the back of his hand. After swabbing my hands for bomb residue, I was sent on my way.

On the return from DC today, at Washington National, again pulled aside and a very cursory feel of my legs and arms and it was over. Never addressed my crotch. I am amused by the whole thing and find the differences from airport to airport very revealing as to the flaws in the system. If I start flying a lot again, I'm getting TSA pre-check, however.

I didn't think implants set of alarms at airports, I believe Clavell said just as much in one of his videos.

TSA policy does not strip search. HIPAA protects you from offering medical conditions. Guys here should protect there rights when being asked about mdeical conditions. You guys are not the only ones with implants.

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I used to make fun of conspiracy theorists until I realized they were right.

Remember naked scanners? A lot of places still use them. The powers that be reassured us nobody was going to be able to gawk at our junk or our wives’ boobs….all that would show up on the sort-of-x-ray Machine would be bombs and rockets and guns (oh my).

Then some TSA whistleblower comes forward to tell everyone about the photo collection his co-workers have of guys with real big and really tiny dicks not to mention really busty females. Shoot, one TSA guy got fired over an altercation with his co-worker, who was making fun of the first worker’s junk (he had the misfortune of being the subject of the day’s calibration pic).

I’ve been flying a lot lately. I generally use my military ID. I’m guessing the fact that I’m male, Caucasian, of English descent (ancestors got off the boat, legally, in Galveston in 1846), and a retired Army officer checks every box to be a potential terrorist because I get the next best thing to the full body cavity search every time. And no, the TSA agents do not like it when you offer to disrobe for them while still in line.

Security, the way it is done, is the ultimate waste of time and money. Which, when you think of it, makes it almost the perfect role of government.

For me, it’s not just an implant. I’ve got mesh from multiple hernia repairs. I politely tell them (when I’m asked about medical conditions or surgeries) that it’s none of their fucking business.

Btw a shout out to security personnel at TSA in the Southwest terminal at Ft Lauderdale. Best TSA anywhere. I hope I don’t get them in trouble by saying they’re courteous, professional, efficient….even friendly. The absolute antithesis of typical government employees.

This trip was my first since getting the implant, and it set off their alarm in both airports.

It's really just theatre crafted to make you feel safer, at your own expense. Take your shoes off...really!

I carry my Titan coloplast card with me but with PreCheck I've never had a problem going through TSA

I didn't think the implant had enough metal parts to trigger the alarm.

When I went through the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston, the implant set off the scanners. I was rather amused by it.

Where can I get this card? It would be extremely helpful.

I received it from my doctor when I got my implant. It has my model and serial number. I'm going for an MRI and I had to fax the card to the medical center in advance as it has MRI info on it.
