I was recently implanted on 9/14. I had a follow up with my doctor a week later. He said everything looked great and cleared me to bathe. I told him I had found the deflate button (700 LGX) and that I gave the pump 1/2 a squeeze. He said it was way to early and he wants me to heal, and to see him in 4 weeks. That will be 5 weeks. I know you guys recommend following your doctors instructions, but that seems like a long time to wait. Advise?

You're fine. Just looked it up now and I'm surprised but it wasn't even until 34 days after my surgery did I start cycling. I didn't really know it was a big deal yet. And that didn't hurt me at all. You've got tons of time, nothing is necessary right now.
If you got yours 9 days ago I'd guess you probably should be waiting. Waiting 5 weeks might not be required but they'd never be a tragedy either.

Well that’s good to hear. It’s just that in my mind healing means tissue growth and attaching itself and forming around the cylinders.I would think it would be more painful that way. I’m really not in a rush, just want everything to go as smooth and painless as possible!!

Everybody's different - it was three months before I was able to operate the pump. My scrotal incision was slow to heal and had to be re-sutured. Some heal fast, and others not so much.

True. But keep in mind that same process also needs to happen around the reservoir.
Getting an implant is not the same experience for everyone. Some get the reservoir placed into the retropubic space while others are placed ectopic intra-abdominal or high submuscular (HSM). Some guys go into surgery with Peyronie's or severe fibrosis and scaring. Some have none of these complications but may have other underlying health conditions. Some get the traditional scrotal incision while others get the infrapubic procedure and surgeon’s techniques can vary within those approaches. Expansion properties of LGX vs Titan behave differently. The list of variables goes on and on. I say follow your surgeon’s advise because he knows best his technique and all the particulars of your surgery

Doctors are as different as the men that are implanted. Some doctors have developed methods of surgery for early activation. Others have not and skill level is different also. The time to be concerned about waits for activation is during your surgeon search. This would be one of the questions to ask before surgery. As well as if the doctor does repairs or revisions. It makes no difference what other doctors and men do. You trusted your doctor for this so you should trust and follow the instructions your doctor gives you. Anything else you do has a risk to it.
Good luck with this

Thank you for the great advise. I always tend to put the cart in front of the horse so to speak. I actually just finished a back surgery and thought to myself “ why don’t I get implanted” ? So I went to my urologist who has been aware of my Ed for a few years. He’s a mile down the road and the hospital is about 2. I got the appointment for 9/14 which was 2 weeks out and it was at that moment I thought wtf did I just do?!? That’s when I went home and started looking online for information. It was awhile before I found this forum, and all I came across was old articles from 2000 with horror stories and people saying don’t do it!! I was scared, who do you ask about this?? Can’t just go on Facebook or Instagram lol. When I did find Frank Talk I was relieved because there were stories of success and great information. I saw that most suggest going to see a high volume doctor The closest would’ve been 2 hours to Miami. I was second guessing my doctor so I asked him he said he’s been doing this for 29 years and does only about 10 a year and he wouldn’t be mad if I went to Miami. I’m so glad I didn’t He seemed to have done a great job and the hospital staff was great. The fact that he’s a mile down the road makes it so great and easy to get a hold of him. That being said, I will follow his instructions and won’t second guess him again !!

Yes, follow your doctor's advice. You have a lot invested in the implant, don't ruin it by rushing in.
In time you will love what you are now capable of.
