Hi nickanick

Welcome to the club :)
Yes, I am one of those you are looking for. Here is the short story what you should expect:
1. You'll be scheduled for the doppler test to determine the case of a venous leak.
2. You will be given tri-mix shots to see if that works on you (did not work in my case).
3. You will be given "soft tips" about the possibility of the penile "reconstruction" which technically means the implant.
4. You will be put on the waiting list. This is where I am currently.

To answer your questions. Yes, the penile implant procedure is covered by OHIP, but with the reduced funding, the doctors can perform only few dozens of surgeries per year. When I was put on the list it was about 2.5 years of waiting. This was a year ago. Now it can be even longer.
Usually patients get AMS implants but I believe Titan can be an option too.

Should you have more questions do not hesitate to contact me.

Yes, Waiting Lists are something all Americans have to look forward to with Obamacare. Also, expect IPP to not be covered.

If O gets re elected this time it will fully implement Obamacare. I rushed my op because I know once O care is fully implemented, we will be on a 2 year waiting list for this stuff also in the years to come. I just dread in 10 years needing a replacement and having to get on a 2 plus year waiting list that will not start until mine fails. I pray Romney gets this voted in and turns this mess around.

Don't worry too much. You'll probably die while waiting on heart surgery long before you're at the head of the line for a penile implant.

Had an implant, AMS LGX, last Saturday performed by Dr. Bella. I couldn't imagine having a more professional, caring and personable Surgeon. Had the operation performed in Montreal at the Rockland Clinic. If I had waited to have it performed at the Civic in Ottawa it would have been about 2 years away. I'm 3 years out now from RP. Out of pocket expense for having it done now was $16,000. My benefits plan through Great West Life will pick up none of the cost. I've heard that other insurers may (Sunlife).
Where are you now in your quest with Dr. Bella?
