Are implants safe with MRIs and will they cause questions at the airport? My doctors assistant said it’s safe and won’t set scanners off.

If you have an MRI let the tech know you have the implant. There is a specific setting they use because of it.
Airport scanners do see the implant. I just carried my Coloplast card through the scanner and showed it to the guard. No problems on a trip to UK.

AMS 700 implants are MRI conditional. The information is on my device card and there is a paper document that came in my packet. I have given these to techs before imagery but they seem to want the phone number to contact AMS directly. With airports back in 2018 when they were switching over to the new scanners there was a thread on this and it seemed to me that the larger sizes would set of the scanner. 20cm I think and above would most always do so. 18cmmany times would not and below that were even less likely to do so. The new scanners may be more sensitive though. I have not flown since my return from my surgery in 2018.

Oh Airport Scanners... My Coloplast has been checked out as recently as last Friday. You really have to be lighthearted about it, I told the TSA guy I had a penal implant, but he had a trainee, so he wanted to do the right thing and also a recent article questioned if we are really safer since all the security. Anyway, you could see he was far more nervous than me; he would explain what he was doing at each point, back handed, pat downs etc.. The only issue...I was at the airport for business, so my partner was wondering why I was going thru such an invasive pat down.

Titan Coloplast here. No problems with airports so far.

I did have an MRI. When scheduling they asked if I had any artificial device.

I have a Coloplast card which has the model, serial number and MRI info. I had to scan it in and send it in which I did.

No issues.

I have to go through the full scanners due to metal in knees -- and I can see on the scans that my crotch shows up and I get patted down -- brother...

On the Titan Touch, yes it did set off the airport scanner.
