Revision all done….off to a rough ass start

Just leaving the hospital right now…8 hrs after my surgery. The doc put the exact same size implant right back in(couldn’t even get the only benefit from a revision). There were 5 implantees today and 2 were a revision…..40%!
The doc’s office sent the prescription to my pharmacy and they wouldn’t fill it because of some letterhead nonsense
Then his office sent it to a pharmacy close to the hospital and those lazy bitches said they never got it…they didn’t put a lot of effort into it
I’m at a hotel downtown and I’m feeling okay

Hey Craig, I just had surgery with Dr. Clavell last week. Overall, it went pretty smooth. I'm curious though... weren't you supposed to start one of the antibiotics the day before surgery?
If you get bored in the hotel and need to chat let me know.

40% of the procedures that day were revisions. That in no way reflects the overall revision rate. But I’m sure it sucks being one of the revisions since I know first hand what’s involved.
I’m surprised they dicked you around on the prescriptions. That was one of the great things about my procedure in DFW. When I left the hospital we had all of the prescriptions physically in hand, not just called in. Very convenient. UT Southwestern.

They filled the bactrim and none of the pain meds.

I’m just having a little run of bad luck. I’m not blaming the doc or the people working with him for the prescription issue… I’m sure things like this happen. Obviously have no idea what happened to the pump initially. He told me the tube got kinked near the right cylinder and must’ve developed a hole. My wife talked to him before I woke up and he told her there was a leak in the left cylinder and it was probably always there(the reason I maxed out after just a few weeks of cycling). I attribute this to the fact that she’s a lady and hasn’t studied these things the way we have and simply misunderstood what he was saying.
There was also a guy next to on the second floor that had a revision due to infection and I overheard everything….absolute horror story. Sounds like I really need these meds to work

Craig,
I was in the bed next to you in recovery yesterday (Tuesday). I was in the bed to your right and had my Titan implant by Clavell today at 12:30. I also heard the gentleman to your left. Felt so sorry for him - the things that he said. I pray that neither of us have to experience that level of physical or emotional pain.
My procedure went well and, so far, the recovery has been good (but only about 14 hours out). Good luck to you and if you need anything down here, I'm in town until Saturday.

49 yr old looked to be in good shape. I don’t know where the initial implant was done, but he seemed very familiar with the place and people
