I am 5 weeks post-op and had my checkup today. Got to inflate and deflate the AMS700LGX for the first time. Must say I am underwhelmed to say the least. Doctor told me to pump to the maximum and hold it for 5 minutes, twice a day. He said we're into a stretching excercise now and I would "run out of penis before running out of the LGX".

So I got home and tried it. The most I could pump was 5 pumps. At that point I was 3 1/2" in length and 4" girth. (I was 5 3/4" pre-RPP with a 5" girth and 5 1/2" with the vacuum device before IPP). At 3 1/2", It looked pretty small. Also, while holding it for the 5 minutes, it itched and was uncomfortable, but not terribly painful.

I'm hoping Doc is right and it will stretch out another 2", but I'm skeptical.

Any experiences or advice from the group would be appreciated.

The itching is common ... it's just stretching the skin ... try some lotion.

Most likely your scar tissue is going to affect your size gains ... but keep at it. Now when you say 5 pumps, is that all you can pump? I know it gets hard to squeeze the bulb, but keep squeezing even if only a little at a time. See if this helps ...

Hang in there, your still new to this. It will get better for you over time. I've learned here that everything works out over the months, not the weeks.

I pumped it about 8 times this morning and maybe got more stretch, but it is definitely much smaller than both VED and with injections. With both of those options, my glans was fully engourged and not soft.

This is a big disappointmet so far, but my only option is to move forward. I was embarrassed to show my wife last night. After three years of hope since my RPP, I'm pretty depressed about it.

This type of thing just freaks me out . I am incapable to understand doctor's math. There must be some reference to the pre-op length. I cannot believe that 2" of loss is within an acceptable range. When the doc did the measurement after the dilation, why on earth he would not compare the implant size with what was a pre-op length? If the discrepancy is more than 0.5" that should be an alarm that something in the measurement is very but very wrong.
I think I know where this under-sizing is coming from. In the AMS manual it instructs to do the post-dilated measurement with "slightly stretching". Well the vast majority of us require pretty good stretching to get a descent length. Otherwise "slight stretching" will be a flaccid length plus a tiny bit . And I am afraid some doctors prefer no stretching at all to be on the safe side. Though it is safe only from the legal prospective rather from the actual patient satisfaction...

The doc in doing his math also has to remember to add in the 6 to 7 cm for the hidden part of the corpus. If he doesn't, his comparison would look good when it really wasn't. 5 cm is about two inches to give perspective.

Steve, i am hoping that your problem grows right out of existance. One more thing to add to my anxiety list, "I" day is only a week away. Round two.

Hope you get pumped up stretch it out and don't get your ego deflated.

Thanks guys. Support is always a good thing. FYI, I had the 15 cm LGX with 1 cm extension, so if you figure 6 cm hidden, then where is the other 10 cm? I'm still missing about 2 inches. I can't see it stretching more than a 1/4' more, but hope I'm wrong. Also, after pumping to the max now, it is pretty sore, so can't see how I could have sex this early.

Can anybody shed some light on how much the LGX grew after surery? Did it expand by 2"?

Steve, count for 20% increase at most; not just the "visible" part but the entire length of cylinders (including hidden part).
So it is very likely you will get back about 1" of your pre-op length but getting it all back would be a great surprise to me.
Looks like you are dealing with the doc who is more concern about covering his ass from the litigation prospective rather than a one who really cares about patients' satisfaction.

steve, I think you will be surprised at how much the streching exercises help. 5 minutes is ok to start but I was instructed to work up to an hour at max inflation once a day. A lot of others are on a similiar routine. At 5 pumps you didn't get anywhere near max, at max you will be rock hard. I am about 22 months since my lgx was put in and I still max it out several times a week. You might try doing as many pumps as you can then wait a couple of minutes then do some more pumps and even repeat that if you can. Be patient, this part will take months but it will be worth it. Your penis tissue has a "learning" process to go through an it will take patience. I didn't try sex till about a month or 6 weeks after I began the process you are in now, that was 2-3 months after operation. I didn't see any point in rushing the sex as I wanted to be able to enjoy it and the first try was a short one and then back to streching. At six months most of my lenght had come back and it was comfortable and felt a part of me.

Thanks, knotreel. I will follow your advice and try for an hour a day. Also, I only have one side implanted (due to scarring) and the glans is soft and leans to the right (away from the inflated tube).

My biggest question is: I can feel the tip of the IPP tube just short of my glans. With the glans bent to the right, it seems like the tube wants to push through the skin of my penis. Should I expect the IPP to expand up into the glans? How is best way to do that?

Also, as I pump, as my glans is not engorging at all. Should I try Muse or Cialis, etc to try to get the total engorgement?
