I’m concerned that my incision is infected. Do you think there’s reason to be concerned? I’m 16 days out

I would definitely suggest seeing your doctor about it. At 16 days it should be basically healed and those sutures should have been removed by now.

We are all different and some heal faster and others not so much. I do agree that this needs to be checked by your doctor. Even if it is infection if caught early and treated with oral meds it can be resolved. Get in as soon as you can.

Good luck with this.

Badspartan, you should be very concerned. What kind of post-surgery cleaning and care regiment have you been following? Also, who was your surgeon?

Dr Michael Granieri in Memphis. Just washing in dial soap. Dr said not to put a salve or dressing on it

I’m usually pretty laissez-faire about things, but if I had an incision looking that angry I’d be calling the doctor ASAP. Not trying to scare you. A superficial/skin area incision infection can be dealt with using a broad spectrum antibiotic and everyone lives happily ever after. You don’t want that shit getting into your corpora where the cylinders now reside. I suspect the treatment for that would be removal, lavage with antibiotics, IV antibiotics, and a long dry spell before they try to install you again.

Call your doc.

I think there is very good reason to be concerned. For comparison, I had a significant scrotal hematoma, yet my stitches came out day 17 and the incision was dry and tight. Granted we all heal differently but the incision should be pretty well healed at 16 days.
When are you scheduled to have the stitches removed?
Please keep us posted.

Not scheduled to have stitches out until January 4. Originally was supposed to see surgeon 2 weeks after surgery but I saw him the morning after and he said see you in 4 weeks
