Implant Vs. Injections

I apologize if this topic has been discussed.
Have any young guys out there actually been able to date and function long term while using injections? I feel like the implant would be worth it for spontaneity alone.
I am single with ED and I can't see myself relying on injections for every sexual encounter. Here and there, yeah sure. It seems like a temporary solution and all roads point to the eventual implant.

Hi Moving, hopefully some of the younger member will reply, but wanted to give my thoughts.
Trimix needs to be kept cold, thus making it difficult to carry on a date or night out thinking an encounter MAY happen. Carrying a filled needle is risky depending on what kind of activity you are into.
I'm not saying jump into surgery for an implant but consider everything first.

You needed to define young.

I went on injections at age 30/31 time frame. I was married therefore not dating. Somehow I don’t think my wife would approve. I was on shots for roughly 32 years.

I’d qualify that by saying the first ten years of shots were awesome, the next 10 were okay, the last 12 I probably should have had my implant.

I would not jump to an implant for convenience. I would go implant if you had gotten to the point where shots just aren’t effective.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been in the dating scene, but as I remember a guy usually had a pretty good idea if he was gonna get lucky before ripping the clothes off. It’s not that big a deal to carry a loaded syringe, slip into a restroom, and inject. From that point it’s about 15 mins til you’re ready to go (maybe less) and you’ve got 3 or 4 hours before it all wears off.

Injecting surreptitiously isn’t that tough. A guy need not make a big production number out of it. I’d be willing to bet my wife only knew I took a shot about 1/4 to 1/3 of the time, especially that first ten years. The last few it was “I’ve injected, let’s hurry before it wears off.”

A free society means doing what you think is right for you. But from a guy who injected from a young age and now has an implant (which is terrific) I would say if shots work, and work well, don’t be in a big hurry to get on the implant train. It’ll be at the station for you when the shots become less effective.

As far as keeping trimix cold: yes, it loses efficacy out of the fridge. It doesn’t become dangerous, just weaker. But it takes longer than you think. Carrying a syringe in your pocket or the console of your vehicle for 4-6 hours isn’t gonna hurt it. Check with doc but I used to freeze mine in syringe, put in a suitcase, and spend 10 hrs enroute from AUS to GCM. When I got to my condo would put them in fridge and they were fine. A few hours is no biggie. A few days or a week…that might be different.

Thank you for your responses. I am 31 years old and my luck with pills is wearing off. To be honest I even hated having to time/rely on those

I got my implant at 31 and single, tried caverject and trimix but they were not very effective. Honestly if they worked great and gave me outstanding erections I may have just stayed with those, even though they were definitely difficult to use when dating. Of course the implant is also great so no worries there if you do go that route.

I used trimix for 11 years while dating.

I could literally screw for hours. I never had sex with a woman that didn't come back for more while doing trimix. Sometimes I felt like Superman in bed.

The women I had the most sex with knew about it because I told them. None seemed to care. In fact they all told me they dated guys that had problems keeping it up and they thought it was great that I found a real solution that was way beyond pills.

I did get an implant finally for a few reasons like some mild scarring from sticking a needle in my dick thousands of times. Also the antidote phenylephrine is not good for you and I needed to do that almost every time. I also was just sick of sticking needles in my cock.

If I were you I would use injections and do it as long as you can then get an implant. There are no more choices after the implant.

From a young man with an implant to an ED brother. Let me tell you one thing from the bottom of my heart: at least try the injections. What do you have to lose? Life is so long and only when you're really sure it's not your solution can you still think about an implant! I was totally obsessed (!!!) with an implant and pretty much skipped the injections completely as I had ED so bad I figured only the worst solution was a solution for me. Once you have an implant, there is never one going back. I didn't think that I would only feel the importance once I had the implant. When you are ready, then is the time. You have to try everything beforehand. Even the supposedly "crazy" things: talk to your sex partner, say openly and honestly that you are injecting. These are all things I would do now. I wish you all the best!
