Hi, I see your new to the site. Welcome! Dr Eid measured me both with a stretch but then with an injection of Tri-mix and his trusty plastic ruler. I did not have any effects from the stretch. Maybe warn the Dr of your experience if he intends to do a stretch test.

In the operating room, they use a "dialator" -- a stainless steel rod -- is used to "size" the shaft.

When the size is determined (including any RTE the doc thinks is necessary), the dialtor is used to to place the cylinders in the corpora w/a needle at the tip to pull the cylinders thru the shaft. The needle is passed thru the glans in the process, which still makes me squirm when I think about it.

Any other measurement is just an estimate and is irrelevant for the implantation of an IPP.

My doctor never used a stretch test, nor did he want to know what I thought my length would be.
I'm convinced that a stretch test is bull shit to reassure the patient, not to measure you.

I agree with the above posts. I would add that there are 2 very good documents in the general discussion section of this forum in the documents worth reading thread. The documents are about VED use prior to implant to maximize cylinder sizing during surgery. One is about penis exercise. It is important to use care with VED and stretching to not cause damage. I found that stretching worked when I did not have time to do VED therapy. But take it easy. It will take some time. 3 weeks minimum and 3 months or more if you can. Doctors differ on the use of this but more seem to be recommending this. Being aggressive with this can cause damage and cause size loss instead of gains. Even low vacuum applied too fast can cause damage. And too much vacuum can also. The penis exercise document does a good job explaining this. It was written for men who had prostate removal and lost erection. Does not make any difference what causes loss of erections. The results and the penis exercise is the same. For stretching do not try to pull or stretch for maximum length. Just a gentle pull. Pull straight out and hold for 2-3 seconds and return. Then down to the floor, up to the belly button, to the right side and the to the left. Repeat this for 5 to 10 minutes or less if that is all the time you have. What this does is to help stretch the tissue and lets the doctor place a larger device during surgery.

Welcome to the site and good luck with this.

I personally wouldn't stretch yourself anymore like that - nothing productive is going to happen and you did likely hurt yourself a bit. No big deal, the human body is amazing.

You received great information here regarding the surgery itself, and how sizing is determined in the op room. But I think I know where you are coming from. It was my major concern before being implanted - that this doc has no idea what my dick looks like/size thereof, and I am going to let him implant me?

I quizzed my doc on this and asked him (once I made the nuclear decision) to inject me so he/we would know my size. He refused, saying, "that's not how we do it, we measure you on the operating table" (another poster described the process).

I was terrified, but I had my prostate removed so no implant, no boner (for me). So I resigned myself to doing it anyway, something beats nothing at all. And I had to use a traditional physician since I didn't have $50k cash on hand.

It was a looong ride. I ended up being .75 inches shorter from my longest-ever in my life measure in my 20's. I could give a crap. This SOB just works, when I want, for as long as I want. I beat my body to hell with smoking and drinking all my life - there was no way they were going to give me my 23-year-old dick back. I was a fat 7+ most of my young life, I am a fat 6+ from here out and I don't care.

If you NEED an implant - I say get one if you can. Do your best in choosing a doc and then let go and let god (small g intended).
