scar reducing cream or gel?

Has anybody had experience with products like Mederma Scar Cream on their incisions? My wife used it after a breast biopsy and it seemed to work pretty well over time. Hard to tell if the cream helped or the time alone did the trick. My scrotal incision is vertical along the sack line that was already sort of there, so I'm not concerned about that at all, but the incision on my shaft I'd like to minimize as much as possible.

Since I've got 4 more weeks at 60%, I figure now is the time while the scar line is elongated and cream easily applied.

Any experience with something like this?

My ex wife fell and did a face plant off a scooter in Bermuda many years ago.

Lots of facial abrasion. She used Vitamin A oil (bought the pills and then split them open and applied the oil directly to her skin) which promoted wound healing and prevented any scarring on her face.

I believe that Vitamin A capsules are a lot cheaper than the scar gels/creams and can be used for general health purposes.

After shoulder replacement surgery and RP, I found Palmer’s Cocoa Butter works very well.
