Hi all,
I joined the Bionic brotherhood on 3.13!
A bit about my background:
Growing up, I was always athletic and fit, but I remember erection quality significantly worsened when I was 14-15 years old without any obvious trigger. Before coming to the US a decade ago, I lived in an Asian country where most doctors still thought of ED as old man’s problem, so I was told repeatedly that “it’s all in my head.” I started using pills at the age of 20, and they worked really well until I was 27. I still remember when pills suddenly stopped working: two days before, half dose Cialis was still working like a charm, then out of nowhere it just stopped, to the point that even if I triple the max dose (60 mg of Cialis or 300 mg of Viagra) it would still be hit or miss.
I don’t know whether this was driven by tolerance or worsening underlying conditions, but in either case, the sudden onset seems strange. Anyways, when pills stopped working, I became desperate and started doing my own research online, and that was when I found FrankTalk.
Like many guys, the idea of a penile implant was unimaginable to me initially. I was married at the time, so my plan was to try injections. But before I actually tried injections, the marriage fell apart for a variety of reasons. I don’t think my ED was a main issue there, but it definitely didn’t help. After that, I’ve decided that enough is enough, and I need to finally resolve my ED problem. Since I am single again and need to date, injections are no longer very feasible. I reached out to Dr. Eid and Dr. Levine, and was impressed by both. Since Dr. Eid later fell sick, the decision became simple for me. Dr. Levine injected me in his office, it turned out that I wasn’t super responsive to injections anyways. He diagnosed me with venous leak, and we scheduled a surgery date.
Fast forward, yesterday, I went through my surgery. Dr. Levine implanted me with Titan classic pump 20cm+1.5cm RTEs. I was able to pee post-op (albeit painfully), so no catheter was needed. I was discharged with a mummy wrap, no drains, so no need to visit the doctor’s office again until activation date, which is in four weeks. I plan to follow Dr. Levine’s instructions religiously to optimize the recovery, and if you have any useful tips for infection prevention post-op, I’d also really appreciate them!
Thanks for your attention. I’ve honestly learned so much from FrankTalk, and have received many heartwarming encouragements from other members, which meant a lot to me during an otherwise challenging chapter of my life. I’ll update this journal periodically, which hopefully can help other guys with similar situations.

31 yrs old. ED from since puberty due to venous leak. Pills worked for 7-8 years and then stopped. Skipped injections, got implanted on 3.11.2023 with Titan Genesis pump 20cm+1.5cm RTEs by Dr. Levine.

Many congratulations Franklin_F,
The hard part is done. You chose a very good high volume doctor. Now sit back and relax. Follow the doctor’s instructions religiously.
The first 3 days are the hardest. The recovery gets much quicker from day 4/5 onwards.
How is the pain till now? I got operated on March 02 and was mostly recovered in a week. Now it is slight improvement day by day.
Good luck and I am so happy for you.
Take care,
Regards,
Atul

You don't mention which method of implantation Levine uses but, at 4 wks to "activation," I'm guessing penoscrotal, which has a longer recovery time than infrapubic.
Whatever the case, congrats & best wishes for a prompt & uneventful recovery!

Thanks, Atul! We went through similar things, and I have been following your journey. I’m incredibly happy for your progress!!
My overall pain has probably been 2/10 with just Ibuprofen. But peeing is really tricky and gives strong burning sensation…

Thank you! Dr. Levine does penosrotal, and he is on the conservative side in terms of recovery protocol: 4 weeks to activation, 8 weeks to clear for sex.

Thank you! I’ve read your journal multiple times, and it played an important role in my decision making process! Hope I can have the same success with this.

My peeing has improved but it has been a slow ride. But for the first week it was very difficult. Just hang in there. With partial erection peeing will anyways be difficult.
I am confident that you will feel much much better after 2-3 days. Like I said in my experience the first 3 days are the hardest. Post that there will be great improvement.
Good luck!

Day 1 post-op:
Very little pain, didn’t need Ibuprofen. Peeing still gives a burning sensation, but much more manageable than yesterday. Throat has become very sore today, probably a response to the anesthesia yesterday?
Slept through most of the day (barely able to fall asleep pre-op..)
Will be able to remove the mummy wrap tomorrow, feels a bit too tight.

Day 2 post-op:
The mummy wrap is off, what a relief…
The penis doesn’t look as bad as I imagined. Dr. Levine leaves patients fully deflated, but this definitely looks like a boner… Hopefully the flaccid state will look more normal over time.
Pain is quite minimal, took one Ibuprofen in the morning and no discomfort throughout the day.
Peeing still hurts a bit but it is getting better. I haven’t been able to take #2 since surgery, buying stool softener on Amazon now…
Lying in bed all day makes my neck and lower back quite uncomfortable, probably because I typically sleep on my side.
So far no “WTF did I do” moment, fingers crossed that the recovery will remain uneventful.
