Quick pump question

Postby PowerliftingDad » Fri Mar 24, 2023 4:09 pm

Those with penoscrotal placed implants....
How does your pump orientate?
I am 33 days out on my AMS 700 CX revision. My pump is at the bottom and rear of my scrotum as it should be.
Initially my deflate button was facing directly forward at 12 o'clock position.
Now my pump has turned a little to the right and my deflate button is at 2 o'clock.
I can inflate and deflate easily coming from left side of my scrotum.
None of the tubing feels twisted and there is no pain.
It does move freely slightly and I move it easily so it's back to facing forward but it settles back to facing right. I do not have a small scrotum so I don't think it's a room issue.
Just nervous about anything being messed up. Everything has been going great.
Is this just settling?
How does your pump deflate button face?

Thanks in advance!

PLDad,
My Titan pump moves a bit from time to time. I too had penoscrotal surgery. I'm almost 4 years post-op and the pump movement is not troubling.

My pump is just a touch lower then my lower testicle, and just a shade port of centerline nearer the back. It is invisible in my scrotum whether relaxed or tight.

My pump will rotate between being oriented button facing forward and centered, and (looking down at it) turn counterclockwise so the button is facing 10 o'clock.

I've only been cycling for a couple of days, but as things toughen up I plan on rotating it often to 2 o'clock to make sure it doesn't get encapsulated at 10. Seems like the more room to swish around the better.

It may be where it is due to the routing of the tubes, so I'm not sure it'll stay where I put it. I do like symmetry though.

I have the AMS 700 LGX which has the same pump as you do. I'm pretty sure that the doc still had me in the process of pulling down on the pump to make sure it wouldn't migrate up in the top of the scrotum. I'm 16 months out and I don't have any problems accessing my pump but the pump does move around some. I'm a road bike cyclist so when I have my cycling bib shorts on and I'm on by bike saddle my two boys and the third nut get pushed upwards. I don't have any pain at all when this happens, but after a bike ride and I take a shower, I have to pull the pump down in place. I use my right hand to lift, move the pump forward and around a little bit, then I take my left hand index finger and thumb and put them at the top of the pump block on either side of the tubing on that wide block and pull it down back in place.

My pump is at the front of my scrotum, so it's easy to access.

My deflate button is usually facing forward like you said at the 12 o'clock position, very rarely is the pump tilted where the deflate button is at 2 o'clock.

I've heard that some surgeons will place the pump for single guys that are still dating at the bottom and back of the scrotum so that it is more concealed, from your description that sounds like the pump placement that you have.

I don't think you have a problem as long as you can pull down on it and access it. I would check with your doc but I would keep pulling it down.

Good Luck,
We're here for you

Dont think it has much to do with how you were implanted or what brand you have. I’ve heard stories of strange position from many. I had infrapubic as did a good friend of mine by the same Dr. Mine and his are now located low and to the back with deflate bar being about 2-3:00 position. Mine was always there and never moved much. Think it might be more to do with Drs ability to put in in the right place with the proper amount of tubing.

Mine moves around. As I move it seems to get turned a bit at times. No big deal as it is easy to move back to where I want it. Mine is rear low center with extra tubing. It can turn upside down even. But I have a large scrotum.

My pump is still stuck in position high and at the front of my scrotum.
It's also twisted 90 degrees so that the deflate button is facing left, which makes the side of the block protrude at the front. It's very noticeable, and in fact that area is still pretty sore.
I'm hoping that it will free up eventually and can be re-positioned lower and rotated into a better orientation.
My follow-up appt. is on the 29th, so I'll be bringing this up again with my doctor.

My pump is placed ergonomically perfect. That means when i reach down with my right hand to deflate, the deflate block is perfectly lined up with my forefinger and thumb. Even if i had to rotate it a bit it would be no big deal, but this was a nice surprise.

I started cycling 2 handed. Now i can pump to 69% one (right) handed. Hoping i can improve this one handed operate with time.
