Well, I had the version procedure where my pump was pulled lower down by the surgeon.

However the problem of protruding tubing has not been totally solved.
I have read many threads on how you guys have been pulling the pump down after surgery.

My surgery hapened on the 23 march and i started pulling down only from 4 April on the advice of my surgeon.

i cant make out whether it is making any difference

However i have 4 questions:

1.for how many days shd we be pulling down?
2. i am scared it might damage the tubing. As Dr Eid had said most cases fail due to the tubing failure.
3. After pulling down shd we be holding it down for a while or bring it up immediately
4.i dont understand why i have been told to keep icing it . i have zero swelling and zero pain.

Easier to ask you guys all this....

You probably don’t want to hear this but I never had to pull my pump down. Surgeon placed it low centered behind the boys, in a perfect place for me, and that’s where it has been since day1.

As for icing, I was told to ice for the first 72 hours after surgery. After that I switched to heat therapy. Ice is numbing which temporarily mutes pain and reduces swelling up to 72 hours after injury. After that the swelling is what it is and the next step is to reduce it. But using ice longer actually slows down the healing process by slowing down blood flow to the site. Whereas after the initial 72 hours, heat is a more soothing feeling and also promotes blood flow to the site which aids the healing process.

My experience was when my incision was healing nicely that after a hot bath or shower I would massage my scrotum gently and not pull on the bulb but slowly work it down in the sack. Did this twice a day and over time the bulb lowered and it seemed to "relax" into a comfortable position that was lower rear of scrotum. I can easily move it anywhere in scrotum for inflation and it goes back to rest in its normal position. The process should not be unpleasant and takes a little time. Good luck
